the division tournament last week Granted it would hae been nice if the Bulldogs could have earned a trip to the State Tournament but fans were treated to some exceptional basketball action With the competition as tough and the play as intense as it was there were many opportunities for confrontation yet the sportsmanship on the court was nearly perfect I saw players good naturedly talking to each other throughout the games When calls seemed to be going against them most players avoided confrontations with the officials When hard contact occurred during the course of the game players helped each other up off the floor When defenders made good stops or shooters hit tough shots they were congratulated Before the games I saw opposing coaching staffs helping injured players prepare to compete against them After the games I saw opposing players hugging and congratulating each other The kids at the tournament were there to win but more important than that they were there to play the game for the love of the game That's what high school athletics is all about i Destroyer 10 Hazelbaker earns Eagle Scout Award Lady Bulldog Melissa Frandsen fourth from right was honored Team
