have created a Farm Safety Certification process for youth who work on farms This course has been held annually over the last ten years in Sanpete County Since its conception over 200 people have taken the course and become certified Of those who have taken the course there have been no disabling or life threatening injuries reported Once again Farm Bureau and Letter Thanhs to National Guard for BLOC Buty to the Editor: would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and appreciation and convey our respect and admiration to the National Guard members for their dedicated service to their country in assisting law enforcement security mission during the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics Guard members from throughout the State of Utah and from 25 other states assisted with the mission all did a superb job The Guard members performed their assigned tasks with the utmost professionalism and character they are a credit to the United States Armed Forces the National Guard their individual units their families and their employers These soldiers are your neighbors employees and your friends so please take a moment to thank them for the time they so unselfishly spent away from their families and for their service to this great country Our world and country have Letter We seen a significant change since Sep 11 2001 Guard members have committed their time talents and efforts to defend the freedoms we all enjoy on an everyday basis We would like to personally let them know of our appreciation for their out- standing efforts in the performance of their assigned tasks Time after time as we worked with the National State and Local law enforcement officials they were grateful for the pro- fessionalism with which the Guard members performed their tasks The Guard members demonstrated that they are true heroes in every sense of the word Their families and the patrons who came to experience the Olympic Games should be proud of the quality of these dedicated troops Many individuals expressed their sincere appreciation to the Guard members as they performed their security tasks To we say those individuals thank you for the recognition of these citizen soldiers To the employers of the citizen soldiers who served during this military activation "Thank you for allowing the Guard members many of whom are your best employees the opportunity to serve when called" These employees are proudly representing you and your support is crucial to their success As senior leaders in the Utah Army National Guard we recognize the sacrifices you make to employ National Guard members We as leaders work diligently to train your employees in leadership tasks dedication loyalty and service all of which we believe will enhance the performance of their Instructors Needed For Coming Season The Division of Wildlife Resources will certify new instructors at a free instructor training seminar that begins March 6 in Fillmore The seminar runs for three weeks from 7 to 10 p m on Wednesday and Thursday at the Public Safety Building 765 S HWY 99 To be in instructor a person must be at least 21 years old and must be cleared through a background check Prior experience m teaching is not required "In addition to getting people familiar with what the course teaches we also teach people how to be good teachers" says Mark Beamson hunter education
