Show 5 Frank Prows April 12 2000 Salina Sun Gunnison Valley News Rachel Mellor D Sorensen LAS VEGAS NEVADASALINA UTAH —Frankiin D Prows 65 died April 8 at his home in LasVegas Nevada He was bom August 17 1935 in Salina Utah a son of Dail A and Donna Nelson Prows He married Carol Sue 1955 in Salina Utah Carlson June Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple February 18 966 Frank worked with his father Dail raising turkeys Later he worked for theGran-itSchool District Clover Club Foods Hercules Chemical and had his own American Mobile Wash business While living in Salina he was active in the Salina Jaycees He was active with the Boy Scouts Served as Bishop's Counselor in the Kearns Ninth Ward He lived in Las Vegas since 1984 He was a devoted husband father and son Frank is survived by his wife of Las Vegas sons and daughters Michael D Prows Salt Lake City Jerfree M Prows Las Vegas Lisa (Robert) Loosle Beaumont Texas Mark S (Melanie) Prows North Fork Nevada John E (Kimberli) Prows Salt Lake City Mother Donna Prows Salt Lake City and sister Rae Lynn (Lee) Rasmussen Boise Idaho brother Steven A Prows Bountiful He was preceded in death by a son David and father Dail Funeral services will be held April 14 2000 at 12 noon in the Salina Third Ward Chapel 85 South 100 East Friends may call at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina Fri day morning 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to services Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Salina and Richfield Summarell advances rank Marine Corps Lance Corporal son of Samuel Marty T Summarell T and Karen E Summarell of' to Salina recently was promoted his current rank while serving with Marine Wing Support Group 37 Third Marine Aircraft Wing Marine Forces Pacific San Diego Summarell was promoted Dased on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his desHe joined the ignated specialty Marine Corps in August 1999 LAKF CITY UTAH— Rachel Mellor Sorensen our beloved and devoted mother grandmother greatSALT grandmother friend passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in the Lakeview Hospital ICU surrounded by her family who loved her so Our mother Rachel Mellor Sorensen was born July 28 1911 in Fayette Utah Sanpete County to Joseph Mellor and Fliza Robinson She married Fmest J Sorensen July 16 1930 in the Manti Temple They made their home in Favette where they raised their five children Mother was employed as cook for Madsen's Cafe and Wisteria Cafe in Gunnison for 10 years She was cook for the Gunnison Hospital for five years Mom and Dad moved to Salt Lake in 1960 where Mom was employed at Shriners Children's Hospital as a cook She later became head cook and dietitian for 18 years until she retired at age 67 She was an active member in the LDS Church She was known not only for her great talent as a cook she did and she took beautiful handwork pride in her beautiful yard full of roses What a great heritage this great Matriarch has left this family Thanks Mom for the example you set and the love you so unconditionally always gave What great memories you have given us all to remember you by You all our on left have footprints surely hearts This great lady is survived by her children Ardella and Rev Sorensen Manti Utah Helen and Gene Taylor Don and Alice Utah Midvale Sorensen Fillmore Utah Lee Ora and Jim Erickson Woods Cross Utah 20 beautiful grandkids and their mates 60 of the most beautiful in the world and three which most called her "Cooker Grandma" and Melba Mellor one special of Fayette She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest J Sorensen a darling little son Lee Roy Sorensen arents Joseph and Eliza Mellor rothers Guy Mellor Ira Mellor Elwood Mellor Fred Mellor Wendell Mellor and one sister Lillian Lyman and one grandson Larry Gibb Funeral services were held Tuesday April 11 2000 in the Russon Brothers Bounti ful Mortuary She was laid to rest beside her husband the love of her life in the Fayette Cemetery at 3:30 pm Her greatest joy was being with her family Farewell Farewell Homecoming Homecoming Eider Logan Heaps Elder Justin Elder Brandon Elder Jordan Yardley Blood Mitton Flder Brandon B Blood returned from the Pennsylvania Philadel2000 le Mission on April will speak in Sacrament Meeting Third Ward on in the Gunnison April 16 2(X)0 at 250 p m Brandon is the son of Kerry and Jackie Blood Fie is the grandson of Jack and Idona Barnes of ehi and Afton and Carol Blood of Angle Flder Jordan Milton has been called to serve in the South Carohe Church of lina mission for Saints Jesus Chris!
