Show founded on belief God Brothers in each passing moment we near the end of this year's endeavors and will soon celebrate a high school graduation ceremony And because this has been a good year and we have an excellent group of seniors entering life With school receive Eagle Scout Awards April seemed more Although and like March with temperatures winds typical of March it was precipitation wise a very average April The late April and early May storms helped improve the situation on Sanpete Valley watersheds Service snow A Soil Conservation survey crew went via helicopter onto several Sanpete Area Mountain courses after the overcast had gone and made these measurements according to SCS Technical LaMar after high school we feel we should take a moment and bow our heads and give thanks to that almighty Wow! What came over me about said that "GH word You know that word that we cannot say at graduation ceremonies this year One more right that has been threatened by a vocal minority as they define separation of church and state Don’t tell anyone because we might get into trouble but just last week many of us stood misty eyed as the elementary school children presented their last school program of the year for their parents Wouldn’t you believe it they tried ruining the program because they had the audacity of making us recite the pledge of allegiance you know "one nation Jorgensen At the in course Meadows Ephraim Canyon there are 74 inches of snow containing 243 inches of water 89 percent of average and at the Meadows lower in the canyon The there are 54 inches of snow water content is 159 inches 90 under God" "God Bless The USA" was another favorite traditional song that was sung Hey you guys don't you know that you can be sued for such behavior in our schools in the United States? Enough of this sarcasm and enough of this radical viewpoint as claimed as constitutionally correct We all agree with our founding fathers when they explicitly denounced a state church by declaring separation of church and state But nowhere did they ever desire separation of state and God This country’s founding philosophy was and still is based on a belief in God The constitution was written and God was thanked afterwards for his inspiration to the minds involved And now just look where the ACLU is taking this great nation and us Lawsuits threaten any public high school that includes prayer at graduation Lawsuits that should eventually make the Boy Scouts of America change their scout oath because it makes a boy say he will do his duty to God and his Country And the list goes on Last week the California High Court ruled in favor of the ACLU by saying no more prayer at graduation but then turned around and members of that court stated they hoped the United States Supreme Court would overturn their decision We as Americans should be shocked at such behavior and let our views be known to the powers that have control This is a prime example of a few controlling the majority simply because the majority is silent We are not wrong in believing in God and wanting to give thanks to him wherever and whenever we please and this attitude does not infringe upon the constitutional rights of those that do not believe in God because we do not stop them from thanking whomever or whatever it is that they thank We need to stand up for what is right and what is true Now is just as good a time as ever to let your voice be heard And by the way Seniors we do have great hope and aspiration for you and the impact you will make on our future And there are many of us who pray that your tomorrows will be even better than the ones we have had and that you will be inspired to make correct decisions throughout your lives Committee of Cinco De Mayo thanks everyone who helped
