of the colors was On Friday (Xlober 24 several members of the Sand Roc k KidgcKidci ATV Club met on the road to Cherry Creek north of the Little Sahara Recreation Area for an enjoyable evening beginning with a short ride to Rockwell Ranch and then a hot dog roast with lots of great food brought his group all by the club members camped there for the night and were joined the next morning by many more riders On Saturday two groups left flu staging area for a day’s riding tn the Sheep Rock Mountains Robert GrygLa led one group on an easy sightseeing nde and Billy Shepard led the other on more technical nails The groups visited such places as South Maple Peak Pass Cherry Creek Reservoir and made stops at old mine sites where buildings and mine shafts from the West Tiniic Mining DisUiet are still very well preserved Just after lunch the two groups met going opposite directions near Cow Hollow As luck would have it this meeting happened on a narrow section of trail but riders pulled to the edge of the trail and allowed others to pass visiting as they went by Modem technology played an important mb in live day's nde At rider pntpow(XHg- afternoon turn not noting the escent ribbon tied to them that is left by the leader to trunk intersections One of the lady riders had a flat tire that was being fixed when a head count was taken and the riders missed Just minutes Later one of the group received a text message from the lost riders saying they had figured out their mistake and were on their way to join the mam group Both groups went about 50 mile enjoying a day of perfect weather scenic trails and great company A month before the ride an exploratory group of rule guides and a few other met near Chcny Creek Reservoir to spend a day finding the best routes for the club rules After several hour of following trails both good ones and rough ones the group decided more woik was needed to make some sections safer Two days were spent in tlie coming weeks with saws and shovels to do work on the trails Thanks to those who donated hours of time for this woik project: Billy Shepard Robert ( fry gla Doug Wilkerson John Adams John Montgomery Mark alleroni and Mike Grygla Because of their work the routes were safer not just for the club ride but for other riders who w ill follow A special thank you to Landowner rank Vinson Is planning your wedding causing hair loss?
