this ceremony officers w ill be speaking to the students in the general sembly Each will give a speech on one of the 4 different qualities of a National Honor Society Member Character Leadership Scholarship and Service At this ceremony those to All Because there are no national holidays this month we are left to celebrate whatever comes our way The powers that be that have some authority over what gets designated to become an LVLNT have decided to make August “Wellness Awareness Month" The five areas of wellness are physical mental social emotional and spiritual At the center we try to focus our attention not just on the serving of food to nourish our kxlies but social and physical needs as well As seniors it is sometimes easier to just stay home and not make the fort to spruce up dress up and get lip We need to be careful that our itaph doesn’t read “Died at 60 buried at 90'" Social activities are important to our mental health Our Birds of a Feather group that meets on Fridays support each other in the five areas of wellness Come and join us on Tuesdays too as wejaz up the center w ith music and fun We focus twice a month on our mental w ellness w ith the Bereav ement support offered to us by the IHC staff The loss of a loved one the onset of illness etc make for some stressful times These folks can make a difference in our lives as they listen and recommend congratulated on reaching another milestone The party committee troduced a new Bingo game which we all enjoyed It was so fun we are going to play it each Wednesday after lunch Details at the center We are sad to learn that our chief cook Marianna Henke is leaving us She has been a great asset to the center and we will miss her August is also National Artist Month Our seniors excel in their tistic abilities with creations to light family and friends At the county fair this month seniors were well represented in all areas Just to brag a little our Senior t enter display was a winner with our and get involved so you know what being a Board member entails Fillmore City B 5 Delta Red Hats celebrate third anniversary t Seniors' display at recent Paul Davis and Clarissa Staples were married on September 6 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple They made their first home in Riverton Wyoming and then moved back to Kanosh for a short period of time Their first son was bom in Fillmore and shortly after they moved to I ly Nevada and was employed by Kennecott for a period of ten years where two more sons joined the family Wanting to return to Utah they moved to Kearns where a fourth son was bom in 1970 Paul’s employment transferred him to Cedar City in 1973 where they raised their family for 25 years Clarissa was employed at Southern Utah Slate University for 23 years She retired in 1998 and the couple then built a home in Kanosh w here they now reside Paul has kad his own business for 30 years and is while Clarissa enjoys her “full retirement'” They enjoy being back in Kanosh and getting reacquaintcd with old friends and find plenty to keep them busy The couple have 14 grandchildren and one great which are the joy of their lives and they love spending time with them and being with family Three sons reside in the St George area and the fourth is in Richfield so they see each other quite regularly The family of Paul and Clarissa invite you to attend an Open House planned m their
