TeacherStaff Appreciation Week When the teachers and staff arrived at school early Monday morning on May 6th they were pleasantly surprised to see posters placed throughout the school thanking them 7th and 8th grade students have been preparing fora final literary event THE BATTLE OF THE BOOKS Twice each quarter each 7th and 8th grade student chose a book to read On a designated date the students who had read the same books would meet together and under the direction of a student leader the group would play a game answering questions written to test the students know ledge of the book they read This activity is known to our students as “ Book Talk "If you would have visited our school in the mornings and during the lunch hour chances arc you would have come across many students who were reading and preparing for the book talk activities Towards the end of 3rd quarter students grouped themselves into teams to prepare for the culminating activity THE B TTLE OF THE BOOKS After months of preparation and preliminary competition the final competition was held on Wednesday May 8th in front of the entire 7th and 8th grade student body Each member of the st place team won a dollar gift certificate ftom Media Play and their choice of a free pass to Seven Peaks or to Snowbird for skiing or a pass for all day mountain biking at Deer Talley and The canyons or tickets lo a Srinyers Ball Came movie passes to T £ T Theaters or swim passes to the li eu Millard County Sn miming Pool Each of the second place w tnners took home a fi ftcen dollar Media Play gift certificate as
