was truly a woman of courage Anna Beth was born on August 8 1925 L tah to dw ard Daniel and Marta in She was C'orina “Cora" Forster Hams raised and educated in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1943 hilc she was in high school she played the trumpet in the band and was a drum majorette She went to Brigham Young and LDS Business College and I mversity later worked in Salt Lake City She mar1945 ried Franklin Stewart Stucki April The Utah in Delta marriage was later solemmcd in the Salt Lake Temple After twenty years this marriage ended in dworcc She was then married to Erwin Rex Pendleton She was a member of The Church of Saints and Jesus Christ of served in many positions including as W ard Primary President counselor in the Stake Primary Presidency and Sunday School Chorister She was very talented at many things not the least of which was singing and writing She especially enjoyed writing poetry and was asked to share this talent on many occasions Her poetry has been a souice of joy for many people She worked for several years as a research assistant for the University of Utah in genetics For the past twelve years she has worked with her brother Ted at the 2001 in Delta surrounded by his loving family He w as bom October 2 1916 in Leamington Utah to Bameybus and Selma Velet Johnson Lake He was the oldest of ten children He married his best friend and sweetheart Marie Lovell on April 10 1937 in Nephi Utah Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on the 18 of June 1947 Their marriage gan a lifetime of serv ice and hard work to provide and care for a family and to serve a growing community which would be their home Alfred began his education in Leamington then on to Lynndyl and nally to good old Eelta High School to eduBut education complete his formal cation of lifewasonly beginning In 1933 he joined the Conservation Corp Camps for those precious few dollars of which the majority was sent home to parents During those hard times he also drove school bus from Leamington to Delta of which he was proud of his precious cargo and their safe deliv ery on those hard winter days He worked at the McIntyre Ranch service station doing repair work milked cows morning and night delivering milk to the creamery then on to International Inc and Ashby’s Inc where he became talented at fixing anything At this time 80 acres in the South Tract area was purchased and a farming career was gun He loved to see the fields cleared from those hearty Millard County sagebrush In June of 1962 Alfred and Marie bought a business Lake Philgas became his dream and accomplishment for the next 35 years Alfred was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints and had served in many callings including Stake and Ward Sunday School Presidency Bishopric member dear to his heart was his title of “Scoutmaster” and the countless young men and their great adventures camping Jamborees and the legendary “River Runs” down the Sevier River For years this was a community event He was honored to receive the “Silver Beaver” scouting award along with other scouting honors Alfred seived faithfully for many years with the Kiwams and ons Clubs Forrest Alfred was devoted to his wife and cared for her unselfishly for over 24 years of illness He was proud of his family and supported many on their missions education and in whatever way he could to help them reach their goals He will ways be loved and remembered for his hard working hands and his compassionate and tender heart Alfred is survived by his loving companion of 64 years Marie
