Show Millard Countv Chronicle Progress April 26 2001 Page 5 Community Events P— TF y Jared Kyle Higgs Higgs graduates from Federal Law Enforcement Academy Michael Ogden Mullins - and Carhe Mullins Ogden Ron and Gerry Ogden announce the marriage of their son Michael to Carlie Mullins the daughter of Dr and Mrs Richard E Mullins of Sncllville Georgia They will be married April 28 2001 in the Atlanta Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Michael & Carlie invite family and friends to visit with them at an open house at the Ogden residence on May 5 2001 from 6 - 8 p m In case of typical Delta N spring weather the open house will be held at the Delta Utah Stake Center 55 Center Michael & Carlie will make their home in Provo where they will continue their education at Brigham Young University Kyle Higgs graduated from the United States Border Patrol Academy at Charleston South Carolina on March 2 2001 As stated by the Chief of Staff of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service dunng graduation exercises “the U S Law Enforcement Academy in Charleston one of the 'toughis considered est' Federal law enforcement academics in the world " Kyle's class started with 55 cadets and graduated 42 The training program included federal law rest procedures self defense qualification Spanish emergency vehicle operation and drug recognition and forcement Kyle distinguished himself by graduating number one of his class of 42 Kyle was also selected by his instructors to be bearer (flag) for his plathe toon This honor is given to the cadet who exhibits the most integrity and determiin nation relationship to the Academy’s high standard His platoon was also ognized as the top platoon in the class bearer it was his honor to As receive the recognition on behalf of his President Millard Fillmore Library Jeanne Hhitaker Librarian Assistant Things here at the library are booming and out Our shelve are dis- paying some new reading maitnal and m almost every category there is something tempting to be taken home and tried The “Western” section is experiencing some new grow th that w e are sure w ill get a lot of good uses as well as our YP section and Fiction area In YP we have added a series that has come highly recommended The scries is called “Left Behind” there are 14 volumes in it and the same scries was added to our adult tion The two scries are written with the same series name but for different interest levels So look for both of these we hope you come in and use them Our “X" or middle fiction has received two new books that we know will be read and reread The first is Fantastic Beasts & W here to Find Them and the second is Ouidditch through the Ages Yes you guessed it these are some of the school books used by Harry Potter at Hogwarts We want you to come in and check these out but they cannot be both checked out to the same family at the same time 25 South 100 Hest Fillmore L'tah A friends group is forming here in the area to help support the library the group Is call “Friends of tne President Millard Fillmore Library" Their first meeting was held this past Monday If you are interested in finding out more about this group you can call Wendy Leatham at As their first fund raiser they have been given a computer that will be raffled off to someone in the community and the funds will go to purchase items for the library The computer will be displayed at the library so you can come in and see it Also as a we are collecting used laser & desk jet ink caTridges We have a container here to put the empties in and then send them to a company that recycles them and in return cams computer products So bring all your empty cartridge in for us to recycle The ATV Jamboree will be here before you know it we want you ids to start saving your money so you can enter some of the kid's games We w ere a part of that last year and it was so much fun we hope you join us this year The good news is- - Subscription rates stay the same!
