Show I Police Blotter Police Blotter Policy i determined by Sheriff Ed Phillips and Chronicle Progress The public has a right to know about ail arrests of consequence The Police Blotter is compiled by MCSO Information is from officer’s reports However delays do occur and namesTincidents may not appear or appear at a later date All persons charged with a felony will be published Millard County Sheriffs Office info from February 19th to February 26th 2001 Information is compiled by MCSO and all suspects are presumed innocent until prove n guilty Monday February 19th 1054 am Scott C Wynn age 19 and Dean C Brown 21 both of Layton UT were arrested on northbound by Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Rod Elmer Wynn was the driver of a green 997 Acura Integra when he was stopped for speeding 5 miles per hour in a 75 zone Elmer placed Wynn under arrest for reckless driving and asked him where his drivers license was He said it was in his handbag so Elmer went in to find it but ended up locating a marijuana pipe Field sobriety tests were administered as well as a vehicle search which uncovered another pipe In an attempt to release the vehicle to the passenger a record check was done which showed he was wanted on an active arrest warrant from the Weber County Justice Court for 5355 cash only Both men were transported to jaiL Wynn was charged into the East Millard Justice Court with Class B misd Reckless driving possession of drug paraphernalia and Class C misd DUI drugs He later posted the SI 675 bond and was released Brown posted bond as well and was also released later in the day 6:00 pm Rogelio Anaya 30 West Valley City Ut was arrested on southbound by Deputy Dale Josse Anaya was driving a silver 2000 Mazda Millenia when he was stopped for speeding 96 mph in a 75 zone A record check showed that his drivers license was suspended for not having vehicle insurance He was transported to jail and charged into EMJC with Class C misd Speeding and driving on suspension He later posted the 53X0 bond and was released Tuesday February 20th 9:45 am Dale P Bond 21 of Hinckley UT was arrested at Delta Sports Center by Sgt Jeff WhatcotL MCSO had received report from the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification that Bond was attempting to buy a firearm at the store but a background check showed that he was wanted on a 510000 warrant from the 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City Subsequent to arrest Detective Roger Young and Deputy Dale Josse searched Bond’s vehicle and found drugs and paraphernalia Bond was transported to jail and charged into the Delta City Justice Court with Class B misd Possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Bail on those charges was set at S92S cash only The warrant charged Bond with 3rd degree felony possession with intent to distribute controlled substance from the South Jordan Police Dept Later in the day Bond was able to post the cash bail as well as the bond and was released from jail Wednesday February 21st 3:07 pm Christopher J Talbert 22 and Amber R Meinhardt 21 both of Delta UT were arrested in Fillmore by Troopers Tom Schneiter and Gordon Mortensen The two were in a white 1996 Dodge Neon when they were stopped by the Troopers who knew that Meinhardt was driving on a suspended drivers license How did they know she was suspended? Here’s a little background information In the early morning hours on December 23rd 2000 Trooper Mortensen stopped the same two subjects in a vehicle at the exact same location and they were arrested for alcohol related charges and Talbert for speeding and DUI The case had been continued and as a matter of fact had just appeared in court today Troopers watched as they walked out of court got into a car drove aw ay with the driver hav ing a suspended driver’s license The duo drove south on Main Street and made a quick stop at a fast food restaurant This provided just enough time for the Troopers to get into their patrol cars and park across the street As soon as they drove onto Main Street they were stopped Upon contact with Meinhardt who was the driver Schneiter suspected drug use They had her perform field sobriety tests prior to arrest for a drug DUI A subsequent vehicle search uncovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle as well A record check on Meinhardt confirmed that her drivers license was suspended as the officers suspected and she was also wanted on a 5435 cash only warrant from the Santa Clara Justice Court in Washington County Both suspects were transported to jail Meinhardt was charged back into the EMJC with Class B misd Possession of marijuana possession of drug paraphernalia and Class C misd DUI drugs driving on suspension and driving with die air bag having been previously deployed Her bail was set at 5201 5 on the local charges as well as the warrant She smartly posted the bail before die saw the judge and was released pending a future appearance Talbert was charged into EMJC with Class B misd Possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia He also posted bond in the amount of 5925 and was released 5 by 5:40 pm Joey W Wheeler 25 Cedar City UT was arrested on southbound Trooper Mike Thomas Wheeler was driving a maroon 989 Volkswagen Jetta when he was stopped for having an expired registration and an equipment violation Upon the vehicle Alcohol impaircontact with Wheeler Thomas could smell alcohol inside merit was suspected and eventually confirmed by field sobriety tests A vehicle search incident to arrest uncovered three open beer scans Inside the vehicle Wheeler was C franaported to jail and charged into EMJC with Class B misd DUI alcohol misd Open container of alcohol in a vehicle expired vehicle registration and no front license plate He later posted the 51480 bond and was released 5:50 pm 911 report of a child on a scooter that had been hit by a car at 125 South Main Street in Fillmore (See front page story) Thursday February 22nd 12:10am Francisco Pachillo Trujillo aka Juan Ricardo Ortiz 29 of Provo UT was arrested in Delta by Deputy Rhett Kimball Kimball had stopped Ortiz's black 1986 Mazda pickup for an equipment violation After finding that Trujillo didn’t have a drivers license under the fake name he provided or any other names he was transported to jail A fingerprint check with the Bureau of Criminal Identification later showed his true identity He was charged into Delta City Justice Court with Class B misd False information to a peace officer Class C misd No drivers license and faulty equipment Bond was set at 5485 cash only which he later posted and was released 8:50 pm David S De Wolfe Jr 20 Fillmore was arrested in Fillmore by Deputy Dale Josse De Wolfe was driving a grey 1986 Ford Ranger when he was stopped for reckless driving after he was seen swerving back and forth into the oncoming traffic lanes Alcohol impairment was suspected and confirmed by field sobriety tests He was transported to jail and charged into 4th District Court with Class A misd DUI with an underage person in the vehicle and Class B misd Reckless driving De Wolfe appeared for a bail hearing the following day with Judge Ron Hare Bail was set at 5 000 which he posted and was later released He had just been released from jail on February 7th after serving a sentence for a number of other previous drug and alcohol related convictions He has been arrested five times since his 8th birthday and served more than 120 days for those offenses Saturday February 24th 5:37 pm Russell Taylor 43 Magna UT was arrested in Delta by Deputies Ray Wright and Bryan Christensen The deputies had responded to an attempt to locate a white 2001 Ford Taurus The driver of the vehicle had been kicked out of a local cafe for being drunk Deputy Wright located the vehicle driving eastbound on Main Street and stopped it He had the driver perform field sobriety tests prior to his arrest Taylor was transported to the substation in Delta and eventually to jail A blood alcohol test showed he was nearly three times the legal limit to drive He was charged into Delta City Justice Court with Class B misd DUI alcohol He was released to a family member later in the day after they posted the 51300 cash bail 9:51 by Trooper pm Kevin D Smith 25 Minersville UT was arrested on Dean Shields Smith was driving a silver 1990 Nissan Sentra when he was stopped for speeding 87 mph in a 75 zone A record check showed that Smith was wanted on a 525000 warrant from the 3rd District Court in West Valley City Utah He was transported to jail and charged into EMJC with Class C misd Speeding After contacting the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office they advised jail staff to release Smith He was released on his own recognizance on the speeding violation East Millard Justice Court by Knox Huntsman Matters before Judge Ronald Hare January 20 2001 at KhdO am J Sentencing - City vs Christopher Talbert (Amended Sentencing of Punishment by the Prosecuting Attorney and Defense Attorney) Talbert was charged with DUI speeding and furnishing alcohol to a minor The case w as plea bargained whereas Talbert pleaded guilty to Reckless driving alcohol related and was fined 5400 6 months in MCJ and 2 days in MCJ The 6 months was stayed upon payment of the 5400 and the 2 days for time served Sentencing - City vs Amber Rose Meinhardt Meinhardt was charged with Underage Consumption Possession of Alcohol A plea bargain was arranged because she was two days from her 2 st birthday Meinhardt plead and was fined 5125 including the 550 surguilty to Underage Possession of Alcohol charge Arraignment - Utah vs Cody Mackelprang Mackelprang appeared before Judge Hare on a Court Ordered Bench Warrant to explain w hy he should not go to jail Mackelprang previously pled guilty for a unrelated charge and was fined 5400 The courts records indicate he paid 5100 and did not pay the balance that is when the Bench Warrant was issued His drivers license was also susbut did pended Mackelprang said he mail a money order to the court for the full amount not keep receipts or proof thereof Mackelprang will pay 5100 per month until the balance is paid off January 20 2001 at 2:00 pm Pretrial - City vs Jessie B Clough Clough is currently incarcerated and was charged with Conspiracy to Facilitate Possession of Tobacco in a Correctional Facility Clough plead Not Guilty and the case was continued for Trial on Feb27 01 at 3:30 pm Pretrial - City vs Wamni Omni Robidea Robidea is
