Show 4 Pi 4 MiHard r County Chronicle Process June 1 2000 Page 5 Community Events M V iX 3 4 X t if y s 3 I r -- Oeta Swensen 90th Irene 50th and Jay F Gardner Wedding Anniversary The children of Jay F and Irene Gardner ae pleased to announce their parent's 50 wedding anniversary on June 5 2000 and would like to take this opportunity to honor them Jay & Irene met in Boise Idaho where Irene was living and Jav went to work after his LDS mission to Western Canada They were married m the Salt Lake Temple and lived in Delta Utah for the first 2 years in 1952 they moved to Richfield Utah after accepting a job with the Tellunde PowerCompany in the PR Department Dad retired from the Utah Power Light Co in 986 as the Southern Utah Division Manager Their 48 years in Richfield have had them involved in many first for Sevier County They were involved m bringing the first TV lines into the county and they had their first TV in their home in the mid 1950's Dad served on the committee that built the Kiwams Club He served on the committee that built the Sevier Valley Tech and served as the Sev ler County Industrial Developm-Chairman tor vears and served as the Snow and president for 8 ears Mom w as a stay at College Found ition Board home mom w ho w as a!w ay s w aitng for us w hen e came home from school to see how have to our day was and help with homework They always been very active in the LDS orkers in the Manti Temple Church and currently serve as a Ordinance They are the parents of fiv e children Jay Fenton Jr Margaret Orahn (Mike ) Smith Patricia (Martin) Mangum and Barbara (Brad) Thompson Their oldest daughter Margaret passes away in Marc 1973 at the age of 20 They lost Margaret's only son Dustin age 8 m 980 and ther only son Jav Fenton Jr passed away in July 1986 at the age of35 The are actively involved in the lives of their 24 grandchildren and 9 They will be spending the'r anniversary weekend with their family Happy 50 anniversary mom and dad We love you 16 years old birthday The family of Oleta Swensen invites you to celebrate her 90 birthday Sat June 3 in an open house from 2 to 4 p m at the W est Millard Care Center Oleta was bom in Meadow on June 3 1910 to her parents Nephi and Hilma Stewart They moved to Hinckley when she w as 2 years old and she spent most of her life in the Delta area She married Jack Larsen and they had 6 children Don Neil Jim Jerry (deceased) Ruth and Diane They divorced and she later married Curly Swensen and gained 6 more children of which Valetta and Neil remain She resided at the W en Millard Care Center w here her sister Golda Christensen brother GaiL is also She has one remaining Some fond memories of her children and grandchildren are meeting under the Oleta t a I -
