Show Millard County Chronicle Progress f ( Missionary - Farewells & ) Reports Annual Multicultural event Jackie Siehen The county’s first annual Event sponsored by the Valued Youth Program was held on Sat April 15 It was an exciting fun filled event enjoyed immensely by those who attended as well as by the youth and adults organized it The talent that was shared was unique and an opportunity to share in The Cliff Eagle Singers and dancers from Salt Lake performed some of the best drumming and northern sty le dancing the community had ever seen Emerson Bill and his group has performed in Millard County before at Pow Wows and those who had the experience of seeing them at this event w ill be w atching for them to return Another treat was the musical talent of the children’s chorus from Eskdale UT Ron Childs the groups director has done a wonderful job training these young people and it was a delight to hear and watch them Jjlicne Withers and her great young dancers were ery good as usual and the beautiful Spanish songs of Tony Mendoza added a nice element to the cultural blending of the day The Valued Youth Kids performed a number they had worked on for weeks called "Don’t laugh at me” It was a first opportunity for many of the singers and they did very well Karaoke was enjoy ed after the talent portion of the event and everyone had a good time with that Special thanks to Traditions In The Making for the delicious Navajo Tacos to Dezzie Probst for Chinese Fgg Rolls and to Kyle Barnson for the Mexican Buffet Also to the Valued Youth Kids for all their help and assistance The crafts and games were very much enjoyed and the day couldn’t have been accomplished without the help of these great kids If you couldn’t make it this year watch for the second annual event next spring You won’t want to miss it by Elder William Tyrell Staheli Elder William Tyrell Siaheli son of Michael J and Roxanne Staheli has been called to serve as an LDS Missionary to the France Bordeaux Mission Mis farewell w ill be held in the Oak C ity 2nd ard April 30 2000 at 2 20 pm He will enter the MTC on May 17 Elder Anthony Dick Coulding Elder Zach Sumsion Elder Anthony Dick Goulding has been colled to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Saiits in the Sao Paulo East Mission lis Farewell will be held on April 30 2000 at p m in the Delta 7th Ward Building He is the son of Dick and Jane will the enter MTC on Mav Goulding He 3 2000 Elder Zach Sumsion will report on his mission April 30 2QP0 in the Oak City' First Ward Chapel at 1050 am He has been sen trig in the California Los Angeles mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints V- - Elder Brett Alan Johnson Elder Brett Alan Johnson has been called to serve in the Berlin Germany mission He is the son of Alan & Paula Johnson A farewell will be held for him on April 30 2000 at 12:30 pm in the Delta 3rd4th Ward building a 197 S 300 W 5 Elder Darren Smith has returned after completing a successful mission to Oklahoma City Oklahoma mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints He will report Sunday April 30 a m in the Hinckley 2nd ward 2000 at Darren is the son of Robin & Linda Smith Sister Lorene Smith I' J Jl Sister Lorene Smith has returned after completing a successful mission to the Wellington New Zealand mission She will be returning on April 28 and giving her report on Sunday April 20 2000 at a m at the Sutherland 2 Ward Thanks Holman Celebrates 102nd birthday p?wfr Vivian R Holman moved t from Delta Utah and from her ?i t I apartment at the Sands Senior :i jr Apartments the end of October 999 w here she had been residing for 13 years Vivian had lived in the Delta area and Millard County for her entire life having been bom and raised in Scipio except for the year at BYU and a year in Park Utah where she and her City husband allace spent their first year of marriage before settling in the Delta area to raise their family of five children Howard Bud Maijone Faye & Wally Beth Vivian has adjusted very well to her move to Arizona and the end of March she mov ed into a lov elv apartment at the home for her daughter ally and her husband Jcrold Bishop Except for the electrical and plumbing the apartment was built entirely by Rick Vivian’s grandson Bishop with help from his father Jcrold The Bishop’s Vivian Holman in the kitchen corner of her enclosed their carport to make new apartment She is very comfortable and this apartment for Vivian and happy We see how she likes it in July when it is one big room 9x 95 feet it reaches 1 12 degrees w ith a small bathroom 5x8 feet It is a lovely apartment and Vivian loves House for five months Recently some it Most of her things were in boxes in ptoplc from Dillards came to the Sterling House lo do make overs and storage and she has had fun unpacking and putting away all of her things by they used Vivian as a model doing her with before and after pictures herself - except for reaching the highest She looked beautiful as usual closet shelves and cupboards Viv lan misses Delta and all her friends From the end of October when she left there especially at the Sands apartments Della till the end of March Vivian lived and the Senior Citizen Center She really just a mile from the Bishop home in a lovely new assisted living facility She enjoy s receiv mg the Chronicle and read3 the room to times dining enjoyed going ing that Sands apartment news each week It is a wonderful addition to the Chronicle a day for all of her meals playing bingo Vivian says hello to all her friends and twice a week and many socials and tivities weekly Vivian made many new family in the Delta area She loves to hear friends while living at Alterra Sterling from you'!
