opening pool for lap swimming only on Saturday mornings from noon The pool will open at 10 am on a one month trial basis beginning Saturday May 4 If interest is still strong and the pool is patronized for wheat $162 for com Si 54 for sorghum S 132 for barley and SO 83 for oats Target prices per bushel are S400 for wheat S275 for com $261 for sorghum $236 for barley and $145 for oats Mrs Brown said target prices protect fanners’ income if market prices are below these levels "Farmers also need money to operate and through the price support loan program they can obtain interim financing to give them time to wait for a better market” To be eligible for price support loans and target price protection on this years crops farmers must reduce their wheat acres by 5 percent and com sorghum and barley acres by 75 percent There is no acreage reduction requirement for oats “At farmers may request advance deficiency payments in cash for wheat and feed grains” Brown said The 1991 programs offer planting flexibility on up to 25 percent of the crop acreage base "Flex” acreage generally may be planted to any crop except fruits and vegetables A list of prohibited crops is available in the
