We appreciate hearing about ‘finds at the library and enjoy sharing them with other patrons Another sharing gift we enjoy is hearing from former library patrons in other parts of the country Vance Wilson sent us a very friendly letter about reading our column and included a computer search on books on Millard Fillmore at the University of Arizona We intend to follow up on that one because it listed some sources we have not know of before Thanks Vance! Tuesday There will be a High Priest Party tonight Thursday May 3 at 6:30 pm at the church It will be a dutch oven dinner and everyone is asked to bring their own utensils Bishop and Jean Dobson will be showing slides of their trip to Mexico and South America Elder Trevor Bennett is recovering from an emergency operation in his field of labor in Tucson AZ Last reports indicate that he is recovering nicely Louise Bennett has recently returned from Calif for the Easter holidays She met her sister Lavon from Arkansas and they both flew to Sacramento Her son Ladd and wife Shirley accompanied them on several experiences: a great play in San Francisco a tour through Carson City Virginia City and Lake Tahoe a drive through Sausalilo Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park Upon arriving home another sister Viola and Louise’s daughter DcEtte and family arrived and along with Dean’s family they all drove to Cedar City for a missionary farewell of another sister Alla Mae She and her husband are entering the MTC next week to prepare for their Munich Germany Mission A great family reunion was enjoyed by Louise and her family Recently Oriene Christensen spent four days in Spring City helping Bruce and his family whilehis wife Jo Ann was in the hospital for knee surgery After coming home Oriene went to St George accompanied by her mother Lucille Overson of LynndyL They went to go through the temple with Oriene 's daughter Jeanne and husband Richard Rogers When she came back home Oriene brought three grandchildren with her two of Jeanne’s children Pam and David and Sharon's son Kasey They suyed a week until Jeanne and Richard came and took them home Davies Spotlight JW Davies son of Jack and Linda Davies of Fillmore has been involved in for 7 years and says he is still learning each year JW has had projects that range from outdoor cooking and tennis to hogs and sheep He has chosen to concentrate all his efforts on his hog projects (his first love) The first time in the showing with a hog JW won Grand Champion Fitter and Shower He says that was a good incentive to choose hogs over sheep He has since won other showmanship titles and many blue ribbons He just recently attended the Dixie Livestock Show and won 2nd place in the Fitting and Showmanship Contest has been a fun spring JW says and summertime hobby He has learned so much he wouldn't have known if he He has also met some hadn’t joined great friends and had some really different experiences including blowing warm air from a hair dryer or twin lambs bom on the coldest day of 1989 Then having one of those twins chewed up by a coyote or a dog and having to do some vet work and constant care to keep it alive JW tells a story about spending some of his savings to buy a high powered hog for a project last year He weighed it in on weigh-iday and loaded it back in the trailer to head home Someone forgot to lock the trailer and road door at a pretty going own the good clip his dad glanced back only to see this pig fall out of the trailer and roll across the highway JW said his heart almost stopped He and those with him jumped out of the truck and ran back to the pig which was bleeding and was totally out of it They lifted it into the trailer thinking it probably wouldn't m ake the rest of the trip home B ut it did an with lots of TLC the pig turned out fine and JW took it to the Della Show JW has put his premium money in a fund for a mission and college and says he can’t wait for his little brother to get old enough to be in so he can be in a real show and JW can help him JW acts as a Jr Leader now in the Swine Club Congratulations JW on all your work Pahvant 'VaUty SeUvi Sc&didt Tuesday May 8: Salisbury steak Wednesday May 9: Mcatloaf macaroni and cheese Thursday May Id Beef stew with veggies Are there no in this area?
