reception were held at the Tooele Army Depot Community Club three sisters Vickey Lee Natalie and Angela and brother Eddie were in the reception line The Whitaker’s son Jim and hi family have had many experiences during their two years in the Netherlands They will probably spend another year there as a Major in the Air Force In Jim’s recent letter to his parents he told of the family’s two week vacation to Western France and Southern Germ any They drove through the Netherlands through southern Belgium Luxembourg th corner of France at Strasbourg and into Germany at Lehr in just four hours They were fascinated by an abandoned concentration camp in the mountains on the French side of the border called Struthof Heading toward Munich they stopped at Dachau which was the famous German Concentration Camp in southern Germany Several Kanosh youth have left or soon will leave to enter college: Wenda Whitaker who had employment in Mesquite NV at the Peppermill during the summer will Fillmore Community Medical Center He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz Joshua is the first grandchild for Jodi’s parents Lynn and Dorothy Skidmore of Idaho Falls Peggy Robison is the paternal grandmother Great grandmothers are Ruth Thompson of Idaho Falls and Helen Skidmore of Providence UT Grandma Dorothy spent a week here caring for the new baby and his parents Her husband Lynn and their sons Eric and Jason visited Sept 16 The next day they all went home Ivie went with her Virgie brother Clayton Williams of Nephi to Sandy Sept 15 Virgie and waa a guest of her daughter Jack and Lisa Higley and family Clayton visited two daughters their husband and families The next day Lisa took her mother to the Union Cemetery where Clayton and some of his family and other raltive met at 10 am to honor the great grandfather of Clayton and Virgie hia wife Rachel Charles William and their daughter Sarah The William family crossed the plains as a LDS Pioneer family They settled in Fort Union A bronze marker waa placed on cemented graves The home of Charles and family is the only the original home within the fort still standing Our nephews sons of our brother (the late Charles Williams of Nephi) searched out facts about Ft Union built as a protection against hostile Indians and Johnstons travArmy Clayton and Virgie eled home Sun On July 22 the children and posterity of the late John and Maud Williams gathered at the Nephi City Park Virgie Ivie and her children took their turn planning this years reunion Her children: Caren (Mrs Don) Baldwin Beaver Monte Ivie wife Judy I as Vegas Deon (Mrs Randho cordova CA but some of his children attended an did the children of the late Charles Louise Veneta Wild and Harlin Picture were taken visiting volleyball horseshoes children had fun in water balloon races etc After lunch we were treated to a ahow performed by “Eddie and His Major Show” professional magician and his wife Beverly of Provo Deon and her daughter Christine provided a small of Cedar City visited Sept 23 with grandmother Virgie Ivie The girls were overnight guests of Aunt Serena and Uncle Ken Christensen and children in Flowell while their parent were in Provo on business Terry Lynn is doing well after her lengthy stay in Cedar City They visited her parents Boyd and Judy Melville in Fillmore Evalyn Bohls is here from Gresham WI dividing her time with daughter Donna and husband Kent Crapo and children and in Fillmore with daughter Gail Robison husband Reed and children Steven Anderson was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church Sept 23 by his father Mark River" was sung by the Daughters The lesson “The Year 1889” was presented by Alton Finlinson Refreshments were served by hostesses Lena Snyder and Portia Jensen Angie Green is home again after surgery at the Payson Hospital and spending two weeks recuperating at the home of her sister Jacqueline Hunsaker in Spanish Fork Zina Hunter spent an anxious hour and a half on Sept 27 locked in her bedroom She went in to get a sweater to wear to her DUP meeting and the wind blew the door shut The old fashioned latch mechanism on the door jammed when the door closed with so much force Zina tried every which way but the door wouldn’t open After about an hour Nada Melville came to pick he up to take her to DUP After Nada couldn’t raise an answer at the locked outside door she walked around the house where she heard Zina making noises and calling for help Nada began to leave to find help when she met LeGrand Davies who was bringing Zina’s mail She went across the street and asked Duain Gee to help
