fact that most of the bulls harvested are only 2 year old animals According to Olson horseback rides will be conducted to further assess both range and deer herd conditions Anyone interested in mandated by the board This is the only unit in our area that must remain a three point unit and this is the last year of that requirement The recommendation for the Fillmore and Kanosh Units 54 and 55 was to return to buck hunting On the with no antler restrictions Fillmore Unit 500 antlerless (doe) permits were recommended for a November hunt east of Holden No special permits were recommended for Kanosh According to Conservation Officer Brent Olson “We need to drop the three point hunt It not only didn’t get us the hoped for results we are actually harvesting smaller and fewer bucks than when we started the three point season three years ago” Olson also stated “Deer have starved to death for two winters because of the lack of forage directly east of Holden It’s hard for deer to survive and that’s what the on stumps sagebrush and cliffrose look like” It was the consensus of the vestigators that deer numbers have to be reduced this year and probably for the next several years A ten permit bull only hunt was why Range rides Division of Wildlife Resources Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management range rides on the Oak Creek Fillmore and Kanosh deer herd units are coming up Local 1500 children or 322 percent according to the Department of Social Services latest child abuse and neglect statistics Substantiated cases of child sexual abuse have risen dramatically during 1988 In Utah 1513 children were sexually molested a 293 percent increase over the previous year According to child abuse experts the increase could be a result of a grow ing awareness on the part of professionals who are making more referrals It may also be that there are simply more children facing abuse as the generational cycle of abuse continues Figures were pulled from the 1988 Child Abuse and Neglect Central Register currently being produced by the Division of Family Services The register should be available March 30 ATTENTION PHEASANT We are new for of try ng to find BIRDS7 BIRD
