On Jan 29 Mrs Avalon Johnson Mrs Raymond Nielsen and Ulala Mace went to the Manti Temple for two night sessions Kind of late getting home but the evening was enjoyable in spite of the late hour arriving home Mrs Ron (La Dawn) Berkey stop- - In 1955 when I was living in Salt Lake City and working as a secretary a Lumber Company at the young man came into the office one day to pay his bill With him he had an animal carrying cage Coming from the cage was a loud and desperate cry of fright It was definitely the wailing of a cat but the kind I had never heard before The cage was completely enclosed with no viewing window so I asked the young man what sort of cat He said it was a he was carrying I had never seen a real Siamese Siamese cat before or heard such yowls" so I asked Him if I could see it’ He seemed delighted to show me the cat but I was appalled when he opened the cage door The interior was filthy and the stench was overwhelming He lifted the cat out for me to see I cringed It was a kitten about four months old caked with cat dung and so emaciated she could hardly stand Even though it gave a chill I reached over the counter and took the kitten in my hands Immediately she stopped crying and looked at me with a desperate plea for help in her beautiful blue eyes The young man said “I want to sell her Here are her papers She is $3000 cash” Although I didn’t own a cat or didn’t know what I would do with one I said “I’ll take her” and gave him $10 He put the money in his pocket picked up the cage and left I took the kitten into the restroom and gave her a bath in the toilet enough to wash the worst off then another bath in the sink with plenty with paper towels soap and a Through all this she was very quiet and knowing I was helping cooperative her Cats are naturally very clean ' animals She slept on my lap through the rest of the afternoon and I carried her home in a shopping bag She hungrily ate everything I gave her and wanted more eating until her stomach was a round ball on both sides Then she found a place on my bed and slept When my husband came home from work she sprang off the bed and literally attacked him It was evident that while living in that dark foul cage she had built up a hate and a rage toward the man who owned her Although she was a loving and faithful friend to me she intensely disliked my husband and all men and boys to her dying day Pandee lived to the ripe old age of 15 having her last litter of six beautiful iamese kittens three months before er death She was a clean meticulous Iiouse cat loving mother queen and supreme ruler of my household of one male and three female Siamese cats but she always approached me with love I loved and humility gentleness Pandee dearly and miss her even after fifteen years Nathan Dean Whicker the little son of Jim and Sandra Whicker was given the name and a blessing by his father on Feb Nathan was born Dec 19 1986 in Logan Utah He has a very proud sister Milly (Camille) and a ver affectionate brother BJ (Brandon James) His grandparents are Cal and Vivian Powell of Highland and Dean and Marlene Whicker of Fillmore Jim and Sandra served dinner to 32 family members who traveled to Logan to attend the blessing of this newest little one Dean and Marlene were pleased to have all of their family present except DeAnn and Russ Wiley and their four children John and Jana Whicker and four children drove from Payson and Paula and Kendall Quarnberg came up from Aurora with their three boys Nathan is the 15th grandchild for Dean and Marlene INN The elephant can spend up to 18 hours feeding THE HEARTIEST Paradise Inn Restaurants FILLMORE - PARTIES START HERE!
