fears because they’d do all the driving if we’d only go Leaving Wednesday noon we drove to the home of our son John wife Kathryn Ann and family of 6 West Jordan where we spent Christmas Eve and part of Christmas Day having a joyful time opening gifts and playing games with the children Just before noon John took us to the home of our daughter Lillis and husband Frank Byers in Salt Lake City where after a short visit they took us to Logan to the home of our oldest son David wife Tam and family live Here we ate Christmas dinner and shortly afterwards had the thrill of talking over the phone to our grandson Dan Rogers from his mission area in Santo KANOSH Dathel Whitaker Ph Millard wins over 1 Juab 69-5- The Juab Wasps were Millards January 3 It was a guests Saturday good game for the Eagles having 5 players in double figures It was the Eagles’ goal to beat them every quarter which was accomplished The leading scorer for this game was Jimmy White 15 points Behind him was Corey Gillins Mark Charlesworth points also played really well off the bench Although this is a game it was a good opportunity for the Eagles to get back into the season after a long holiday The Eagles league record still stands at 3 wins loss The Eagles will play South Sevier here on Wednesday Jan 7 and will travel to North Sevier Friday Jan 9 We wish the team and coaches lots of luck Swimming pool news The Holiday Dive lor Money and Piies Day which was held at the West Millard Pool on Tuesday December 30 was much fun for the 140 youth who participated $3000 in coin (450 coins) and 437 colored washers were thrown into the pool for the youth to find The youth dove in age groups with the three to five year olds starting first and winding up with the 12 to 16 year old age group All participants were winners even if they didn’t find something on the bottom of the pool Each youth was given a treat for trying Money on Diving for Money and Prizes Day is generously donated by the West Millard Recreation District and the prizes are paid for from the lifeguard fund A good time is had by all on Diving for Money and Prizes Day The next diving day will be held the Friday before Easter The holidays were fun at the pool but now they are gone and the pool has gone back to the regular winter pool schedule Swimming lessons and Aqua Aerobics have also started again For those of you who don’t remember the West Millard Pool’s winter schedule it is as follows: Delta High wrestling The Delta High wrestling team will be taking on Juab in their home gym on Thursday Jan 8 JV’s will start at 6 pm and the varsity at 7:30 pm Jan 10 Delta High will Saturday be hosting an eight school Schools parwrestling tournament ticipating are Emery Kanab Bonanza (Las Vegas NV) Nlanti White Pine (Ely NV) Cypress and Delta The first session of the Saturday tournament will start at 10 am session 2 will begin at pm and the final round will get underway at 6 pm There will be a lot of good to become an information society then Carl Lyman is definitely in the right field Carl teaches Word Computer Processing Applications and Programming and Advanced He also Computer Programming teaches Accounting and Accounting II The courses he teaches are taking on added importance each year and are an asset to the Vocational School Carl was born and raised in the Delta area and is the son of Frank and Virginia Lyman He graduated from Delta High School and went on to receive a BS in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University Later he completed his Master’s of Education in the Instructional Technology field from Utah State University Carl and his wife Shirley are the parents of five children Melisa Aileen Jenny David and Steven When his five children leave him a little free time he enjoys working with cattle farming Indian crafts gardening woodworking and fixing things Fixing things! mother back to Fillmore they took her on a tour of Kanosh in the evening to see the many beautifully decorated homes Metta and Van George enjoyed a joyous Christmas holiday at their home Ellen Ridwhen to Brigham City to the home of our daughter Kathie husband Dennis and family of 5 where we enjoyed the rest of Christmas Day stayed overnight and spent many delightful hours looking at picture albums of Christmases and family reunions in the past Later that day John and Kathryn Ann and family joined us for dinner and later took us back to their home in West Jordan On the way back we saw the beautiful Christmas display and lighting arrangements on Washington Avenue later still drove around Square Looking Temple through the gates we could see that many more lights and decorations have been added to the beauty of that special place It was a lot of traveling for two and half days but well worth it We are grateful to have four of our five children now living in Utah Word is expected hourly home of her daughter Pat Anderson and husband Larry of Monroe On Dec 16 she accompanied the family to the Manti Temple to witness the marriage of her grandson Jeff Anderson and his lovely bride Lori Pincock of Blanding Utah Following the temple wedding the new bride and groom were taken on a jolly ride in the cute carriage Pat and Larry hosted a wedding dinner at the Manti house for the wedding The served was "out of this food party world” Helen also attended the lovely wedding reception in Blanding on Dec 20 with the family to honor the newlyweds On Dec 21 family members were guests at the
