Flowers do offer beauty and cheer just t “by being” and Cindy Crafts’ personality touches many lives The combination is natural Delians find both at Kountry I and cheer While still in high school Cindy began making corsage “pools” for Rovvlette’s That was the beginning of her career as a florist As she says for the past thirteen years she has worked in one flower shop or Carnation Station Davies’ lower Peddlar Kountry Floral At her young age Cindy is “an old pro”! The shop Kountry Moral on West Main was started about six years ago by Marilyn Blanch It was and still is in the Lewis building along with two other businesses Initially however the flowers were housed upstairs and an improvised cooler was used When Sherri Lewis closed her dress shop Kountry Moral moved downstairs to its present location A few months after the store opened Cindy went to work for Marilyn Right from the start the two women had a great relationship-othat was built on mutual respect and trust Over the ensuing years the relationship “flowered” Cindy always figured out her own paycheck Marilyn didn’t question and Cindy never gave herself a raise Enhancing the positive air in the business was Marilyn’s mother ithout Eleanor Eleanor Murray loral neither the women nor Kountry would have survived! As the business flourished and the about years passed Marilyn thought her future Her husband’s job with IPP was winding down and she wanted to be free to travel with him It was understood that when Marilyn decided to sell Cindy would buy The ollci was made to no one else 1986 On June Cindy Crafts took over as the new ownet of Kountry Moral Due to Cindy’s tenuic in the shop and Marilyn’s success as a business woman the change in command went smoothly The business was on solid ground which meant little risk was involved for Cindy Marilyn mains as consultant Cindy ’s aim? It is to do just what her piedecessor did and to do it as well! lor al As Delta grew Kountry became a meeting and visiting place lor many people especially IPP wives lie new women sometimes fell lonely consequently they would “visit” when they ordered flowers The new people wet e interesting and enjoyable and they wete good customers It was wonderful having them in the shop Now that many are gone Cmdy misses them The flower business allows one to have a finger on the pulse of the community The florist knows when there is a both a death a wedding a dance etc etc a birthday an ammersaiy lor flowers are ordered for all occasions Cindy veiy much appreciates ing so involved in her community recession Despite the economic flower sales have increased Kountiy loral is busier than ever! Cindy does admit that it is frightening to eel that we aie living in a business "ghost However with her usual optown” timistic outlook she predicts that the economy “will come around” And she believes that shopping “at home” is essential lor the economic survival of the area A third generation Delian Cindy is proud of her heritage Her husband is Irom Hinckley where the two now live along with their two childien What would Cindy change here? “Do we have to change? love it here There is a great sense of community and belonging” The attention and caring that people receive in a small town are impoitant to Cindy The dtuggist ill come out in the middle of the night to take care of a customers prescription And there is a llow from one generation to the next The doctor who spoke al the funcial of Cindy’s grandmother latet took care of her lather he same when he had a heatt attack doctor delivered Cindy’s baby Whete hut in a small town would this occui So remain and work in Delta is what Cmdy Crafts intends to do Kountiy loral is open from 10 am until 6 p m In old England the child c&Z PUBLIC NOTICE connection with the rillmore City curb gutter and sidewalk improvement project the following streets will necessarily be blocked at the edge of In TO FILLMORE Main Street for a minimum of 7 days: East side of Main Street at First North Batricades will be placed to protect the concrete during this curing period The RESIDENTS Published ch: Progress in the Millard Oct 9 A 16 ounty 1986 c Hilo ( referred only to a girl NOW GET QUITTING BUSINESS SALE CONTINUES o ANNUAL PERCENTAGE ©it $5 Winter Coats Vi RATE FINANCING" CASIK1 E3ACEC price Hunting Boots Vi price Work Boots Vi z price Flannel Shirts Vi price All Ladies’ Boots Vi price Felt Hats Vi z z - price Jolley’s Western Wear 111 East Main Delta 8644651 3 public’s patience during this inconvenience is appreciated Ctittof CHtup f1 word "child" Page six days a week There is never a dull moment! lowets lor the shop must be he otdeted hetorc 2 p m each day following morning at six they are delivered ftesh ITont Salt ake City As a lull set vice florist Cindy's and vaned are extensive lowers-ie fresh silk or and sold I'oi all occasions and they can be wired any whete in the her e ate wotld Along with floweis coveted chocolate baskets gilts Hawaiian macadenna nuts and helium Idled balloons Thete is also a tuxedo icntal lor men when occasions icqtmc loimal attire Having a linger on the commumtv pulse is exciting icvvaidmg and it volves eating Sometimes people want At otliet tunes gnevmg to talk tamihcs sliate then giielCmdy wants to “ he thete” lot het customer Iricnds at all times She wants only to continue to ollet good sci vice to continue to Het sincerity seive her community depth and love ol hie ate always One ol Delta's “lose guldens” loiul! seems to he found at Kountiy party Make plans now to bring the whole Family Fun family and attend our Night You will be glad you did! z z Ihuro elephant” gift Numbers will be put on these prizes and each person will be given a number These will be matched up to see who gets which gift This way everyone will go home with a gifts prize!
