Show Miliirri (omit Ihnrs sPs hronu ( 1985 19 Sepl Page 3 Independent Republicans select Fillmore City candidates Independent Republican Party members in Fillmore cast their votes at their Mass Meeting last Thursday evening for the party’s nominees for City offices Linwood Tracy Jr was selected as the party candidate for Mayor His was the only name placed in nomination for the office and he was selected by acclamation to run for the office Nominated for the two City Coun- cil openings were Mary Bazzell Larry Stuckey and William Masner Selected as candidates were Larry Masner who and William Stuckey 33 votes each received Mary Bazzell received 25 votes Tracy has already been campaignat of for the office and ing mayor the Mass Meeting again stated his platform was ‘‘reform of the city government” He advocated dissolving the city administrator type Meadow nominates mayor and council candidates The town of Meadow held a Mass Meeting Thursday night Sept 12 at 8 pm for nomination for mayor and two councilmen The turnout was very light only eight persons were for the Citizen’s present Party and 18 for the People's Party a disappointment to them that more people did not attend such an important meeting Two persons were nominated for Mayor in the People's Party They were Junior Bond former mayor of Meadow and Stanley Wright and replacing it with a mayor and city council Both City type of administration with candidates Council agreed Tracy’s precept He also stressed the need for industrial growth in the Fillmore area and cited several local assets that he feels should be extolled to in developers potential industrial order to enhance the probability of their locating here government Mary Bazzell When the slips were counted it was determined Junior Bond won the nomination by 14 votes as the People's Party choice for Mayor Those unanimously voted in as councilmember were candidates Stanley Wright and DeLynn Labrum The Citizen’s had one Party nomination for mayor Vern Stewart The two councilmember candidates are Richard Beckstrand and Jim Beckstrand who were unanimous selections write-i- n candidate Because of the phone calls I have received and the people who have I have stopped me on the streets decided to run for Councilwoman as candidate a write-iOn the ballots there is a space on the righthand side marked for this purpose I believe that Fillmore is long past due for some changes in the administration and the repression of growth Mary Bazzell EM Posse to man Pelta radio station Saturday Do a good deed and send a friend to jail!
