year with aesthetic programs In winding up this year’s activities Delta Middle School principal Eleanor Dalton commented “In every child’s life there is a place for the aesthetic Delta Middle School has provided this function in several of our recent programs in the areas of chorus band drama and dance” She added that the entire staff is to be complimented for their efforts Over sixty seventh and eighth grade students in advanced band captured two excellent ratings in regional competition This week these students performed “F estival March” “Chester” and “Rondo Marzial” in two programs for students and one for parents Their Vance Larsen said “There teacher has been a lot of growth and cooperation If we can continue in this direction there is promise for high school as well as generating of enthusiasm for beginners” These students plan to play during the summer at Tourth of July and other programs Thirty band students also contributed to the with their rendition of performances “Hmn graders provided several delightful songs and punch and cookies were served afterwards Fun Day e Until October principal’s birthday The PTA Health Fair was held Friday May 17 It was an all day affair which involved the lower grades in the morning and the upper grades in the afternoon Presentations included basic first aid by the Fillmore EMT’s an introduction to the new Fillmore Community Medical Center on video tape a lesson in car safety by the good nutrition Utah Highway Patrol poison control Baker by district nurse Margaret self image by Central Utah Mental Health and the hazards of smoking by the American Cancer Society The successful event was put together under the direction of Ann Nielsen of USU Kevin Kesler the Service loaned several Extension incubators to the Fillmore Elementary first grade as they attempted to hatch chicken eggs The effort was a great success resulting in dozens of chicks and a lot of excitement among the first graders Three Millard High School students were on hand to give the Fillmore Elementary a special lesson Swallow Suzanne Mexico on Denene Perkins and Sharon Koyle brought various artifacts to show as they told of the Mexican culture Mark Evans gave a Magician special magic show to the Fillmore With the studentbody Elementary Mr Evans help of several students some very convincing performed magic tricks All of the students were both amazed and entertained May 13 was Principal Monday He Charles birthday Ferguson's was surprised by a special assembly at which the studentbody sang "Happy Birthday” He was presented with a cake by the FTA to honor the historic event Farmers Supply 400 E Delta 864-385- 1 Friday May 17 was Delta South Elementary’s Fun Day For the entire students were able to parafternoon ticipate in a variety of activities carried out by the PTA These included tee ball trike race exercise course fruit basket balloon toss hobble race shoe hunt and the all time favorite and famous dunking tub The students ate popsicles punch and donuts while they rotated to all the activities There was plenty of exercise fun laughs and sunburns which made this a special and memorable day Perfect attendance the year the students Throughout who have achieved perfect attendance for each quarter have received special As the year closes those certificates with perfect attendance for the entire year will receive a special
