The voting booth wll open in of the McDonald Building Thursday morning and will remain open from 8 a.m. to p.m. on both and Friday The Thursday winner of the primaries will be announced at 3 p m. on Friday. Two teams will then advance to the finals. The two winners of the primaries cannot begin campaigning until the 3rd of March, with voting booths opening again on Tuesday and Wenesday March 4th and 5th, with the same hours as before. Once again at 3 p.m. Wednesday, winners will be announced. front 1 Elections will be held this week with campaigning Monday thru Wenesday and voting Thursday and Friday. Election campaigns began this past monday morning at midnight when canidates competed for what's known as "The Race for Space." This is where canidates bombard the campus and hang up banners and other campaign paraphenelia on a first come, first served basis. Running for the academic year, candidates and their running mates (president and vice president run as a team) are as follows: Chad Staheli and his running mate Justin 2003-200- 4 In order to even run for office candidates must have a 2.5 GPA, a minimum of 30 credits, a clean Dixie State disciplinary record, and must be prepared to be at Dixie for most of the summer and next year. and running mate Rachel Shakespeore Jake Denning and Jodie Savage are running on the platforms cf. Eve been in Denning: Student Government for two years, and Jodi has been in for one year We have alot of experience with student government and can make next year a better year. Pat Moody and Rachel Shakespeare are promising (1) Improved student housing throughout the city. They want to make sure that there is sufficient parking, trying to strengthen the contracts, and are trying to work with the city because the city owns student housing and not the college. (2) Get student discounts at see ELECTIONS page 2 For students who are com-- j pleting their degrees or who need a little help refining their focus, Dixie State is College hosting an Employment Fair Thursday, Feb. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. in the colleges Gardner Center. Resume and interview contests will also be held earlier in the week. Students can come to the fair expecting around 40 employers who have positions to fill. The fair is for students who are graduating or are com pleting a program, either a r r or program, said Career Center four-yea- two-yea- and employment services director Virginia Woodward. DSC an has held Employment Fair for several years. However, the structure has changed the last two years. In the past, the focus has been on technical programs. Last year the focus changed to take into r consideration DSCs academic programs, Woodward said, and will four-yea- likewise this year. Washington County School District is sending a representative, Woodward said.
