Under the direction of Gary Caldwell, the band played Heart and Soul with precision, and people from the community came to he valentine dates tor the residents, dancing with them around the room to the music. The entertainment became the bands service project this semester. "A lor of tunes are stuff from their big band music," (the residents) era said Caldwell. It was Atrias third annual Valentines Sweetheart party and the first year the jazz band had been invited to play. It was an example of the varied social atmosphere Atria's residents can take a part in day after day at the center. The goal of Atria is to not isolate people into certain age groups, said Sue Gibson, Atrias activity director.
