Founded by Tarmo Nuotio and Ruth Esthler Hillila in 1950, the choir's acappela selections consisted of old and new European, Finnish, and American music. They have sung at the Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame, kreuzkirche, Thomaskirch, Washington Cathedral, and the Shinsho-J- i temple in Japan. Their performance in St. George came about when the Pheorux Boys Choir contacted them. The preview gives the impression that these two sisters are involved with the same man, but due to a curse passed along to the Owens witches the man dies an untimely death and then the two sisters are forced to clean up their mistake The preview makes the movie into more of a comedy than it turned out to be. This story of female outsiders finding the strength to be themselves holds high viewer power. Sally in her search to find love, ends up with a dead husband, due to the curse. Gillian never commits herself to any man, afraid of the curse herself, and in the process never finds one worth loving. Fragments of what this show could have been jump out at various parts in the film. Like after the double death of Jimmy, Gillian's crazed psychotic boyfriend, they find themselves in a drunken state with their two aunts. A four-wa- y confession between them brings out the secret curse placed on Jimmy, and turns the film sadistic in its whole entirety. As a whole this movie had very interesting points, but it never did mesh together right. It jumps from comedy into sadistic thoughts, and than how to get rid of Jimmy. First his body was a problem and then his spirit. It's a slow motion train wreck with a variety of different characters waiting to be discovered. Bullock and Kidman, two great actress, hold the highest attraction to this film, and with anyone else it might not have had the same viewer turn out. Still, this is a great Halloween flick for kids and adults. It was the first performance in the Celebrity Concert Series. Practical Magic Weaves its own Sticky Mess St. George 809 S. Bluff 927 suggested St. George as a stop for Cantores Mrnores American tour 98. They described St. George as a wonderful place to sing. The choir received a great response from the audience. Although sophomore Max Jenkins couldn't understand the words to the songs, he still enjoyed the music. "I was in choir in high school, so I can really appreciate it," said freshman jessica Gardner referring to the obvious amount of time and hard work that was spent in rehearsal. John Larson, who is letting four of the choir members stay at his house overnight, was very impressed. "The performance was excellent; good sound, good presentation, well organized.
