Show minium ' OCTOBER 25, 1991 DIXIE SUN PAGE 9 SPORTS Rebels win a pair By Danny Larson Sports editor A lot of points were scored as the Dixie Rebels beat out Wenatchee Community ColWith their most recent win, the lege 35-2Rebels moved to a 4-- 2 ovendl record ami a 2 Western States Football League record. The Rebels took an early lead when quarterback Phil Durbano ran it in from the one-yar- d line. Kicker Jared Santore added the point after and Dixie was up 7-Later in the same quarter, runningback Rob Warden punched it in from one -- yard out. Santore added the kick and the score was 14-Just before the first period ended, Dixie derided to go to the air when Durbano hit Kalin H;ill Tor a pass. Once again Santore kicked in the point after and the Rebels went up 21-Midway through the second period Durline. With bano rail it in from the one-yar- d the kick, Dixie went up 28-The Rebels finished their scoring in the opening of the third quarter with a 5 run by Hall. The point after was good and the Rebels were up 35-Wenatchee scored at the end of the third period with an interception relumed 102 yards for a touchdown. All the points in the fourth quarter were Three touchdown scored by Wenatchee. passes consisted of 22, 13 and Dixie College shut out Eastern Arizona in the game that matched the 2 Rebels against an 0-- 5 Eastern Arizona team. With the win, the Rebels moved up to a 2 record wtiile Eastern Arizona fell to 0-Dixie scored on their opening drive when quarterback Phil Durbano punched it in from line. Jared Santore kicked the the two-yar- d point after and the Rebels had an early 7-- 0 lead. On their next possession, the Rebels had to settle for a field goal which Santore hit from 42 yards out. Early in the second quarter, ninningback run for a touchKalin Hall had a down. With Santore's kick, the Rebels increased their lead to 17-Later in the same period. Hall again rushed for a touchdown, this lime from four-yarout. Dixie wrapped up the scoring in the third d touchdown run by quarter with a Rob Warden. The point after was missed and the Rebels captured a 30-- 0 win. The Dixie Rebels next opponent will be Arizona Western. The game will take place Oct 26. The following week, Dixie will host the Vikings of Ricks College. The game will take place on Nov. 2 at :00 pm. Tilts will also be homecoming for the Rebels.
