Three days later, team returned to a snow covered city with a Sweepstakes trophy. Competing in the two schools from days meet were and Arizona, Idaho, Texas, conUtah. The competition sisted of Reader's Theater, and Extemporaneous Duet Impromptu speaking, to Inform, Acting, Speeches and Entertain, and Persuade, Dramatic Prose, Poetry, and Interpretation rounds. Von squad feel the trip was a success, because every Dixie member competing in the match broke into the final rounds. They were: Vanessa Cambell- - Speech to Entertain; Shamo- Katrice Communication Analysis, Informative Speaking, And 2nd Place Persuasive speaking; Karis Rowely - and Danielle Hollingshead- 2nd Place Duet Acting; Kristi Behunin- - 3rd Place prose Interpretation and 1st Place Speech to Entertain; Danielle Hollingshead- - Persuasive Speaking and Interpretation; Karis Prose Rowley-Dramati- c Interpretation and 3rd Place Communication Danielle Hollingshead, Karis Rowley, Katrice Shamo, and Mindy Schimbeck- - Reader's Theater. The teams efforts were rewarded when they were presented with the 3rd Place Trophy late Saturday night. This was a great accomplishment for the seven member team who stood their ground and effectively competed against schools with full squads in attendance. The Forensic squad would like to thank their coaches Don Hinton and Mike Woodward for all the support, patience, and laughs they give the whole team. (Oh, not to mention the coaching ) |
