Show 12, 1988 February DIXIE SUN Page Campus Opinion Do you think the students need a student center to use as a lounge, room or just visit with others?? Stacy Judd Dave McKelleb ' , ff, f, - if " Annette Minor Mark Petersen Definitely, I think we should have a student center for everybody. I live in the dorms, and we need, well like theres nothing for us to do, and it would give us a chance to get together and have a meeting place. I think its important to have a student activity center most colleges do, but then it must be dependent on available funds. I really feel they need a student center. I feel like maybe students had not to be paying on two centers at once, but also hard facts need to be looked. Its a hard time for education period. Overall the students need a center and if it could be worked out - go for it. :f , ' activities ' " f; 1 ' i . dont think there ,t sufficient lounge areas, the union building now is just used for registration and I "Definitely, I mean the students are paying - part of their student fees are going towards the student union building that they dont even get to use, except for the student council rooms. I think the students need to have some place to go and hang out, even if its to relax or to study or have everything is else. fun. Dr. Karl Brooks a. n We do need a place for the students to go, socially. The library is great for study but I dont think that the college has, right now, facilities for social contact after class has ended. Joe Peterson Michelle Curtis Kris Nelson Isnt that kind of what the snack bar is? Thats what I think everyone uses it for because I know alot of people go there whether they are going to eat or not, then theyll go there just to kick back or watch tv. Yes, I think we need one, and its not fair because we are paying for two different ones and not receiving either one. Plus, they have one up at Utah State and I think it brings people closer together and helps them gain more friends. It would probably help cut down on parties and riots. Of course students need better recreational facilities at the college, but unfortunately, there are alot of budget complications and so I dont think we would get one for a long time. farnsriL1 Western Opera Theatre THE Looking for some entertainment?
