The Lady Rebels saw a lead in the second half dwindle to nine, 54-5-0 with 4:07 remaining. But down the stretch Dixie played strong defense to outscore the Lady Spartans 13-- 2 to claim the International Collegiate Athletic Conference Victory. Dixie will rely heavily on the performance of freshman this season, with pitchers Darrin Wells, Todd Jolley, and Mike Johnson leading the way. First Baseman Rob Van Dyke and catcher Jeff Lund will provide much of the leadership the young Rebel team needs.
