IRANIAN Ircnten Students Add Color to Campus Guys whose favorite foods are turkey, chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs, would seem to be boys. But Mohammad Panakkhah Nassari and Mohammad Bagher Rehimzadeh, exchange students attending Dixie College from Iran are just becoming thoroughly Americanized. The boys hove had twelve years of schooling in Iran. Thev studied two years of English. In Iranian schools, French, Arabic, English and German are taimht. Each student must take at least two languages. Mohammad comes from Isfahan and Rahim, as the other Mohammad is called, lives in Tehran, Irans capital city. Both of their fathers own factories in this Near East nation. They are studying Agriculture while in the United States. Their applications to U. S. schools were accepted bv several universities but the lads elected to attend Dixie because of its size and similarity in climate to their homes. After two vears of study here, they plan to attend school at a larger university. The handsome Iranians both report that English is no easy lan- guage to master. Trouble easily comes up when two tongues such the same paper. For excample Sheir in Persian means lion tap and milk in English. Also those of you who have seen one of these welcome additions to the Dixie campus take notes in Persian may have noticed that thev read from right to left. Sounds as Persian and English are pdt on confusing, doesnt it? Mohammad and Rahim say they like the United States very much, as do most people in their country. because everyone is so helpful. In referring more specifically to Dixie, both young men were impressed that everyone is so kind. O o,e a Ijjj.
