Show 8 THE DIXIE OWL SECOND YEAR REPORT In the closing of this school year, we, the Sophomores have many sad feelings. We have been so happy together, although the Flu did separate us for a time. But we came back to school with hearts set on a good time Our parties and dances were delightful changes from anything that has ever been done before. Indeed we feel that the Sophomore class has had an unusually successful year. We owe a great deal of this to our very able president Keith Seegmiller who with his has been the life and push of the class. Our basket ball, base ball and track meet merits would be no disgrace to any class, in the first interclass meet we came out first, but in the next one, we felt a wee bit sorry for the Juniors, so we let them take first place. We are mighty proud of Stephen and Irvin for When they played in the main basket ball team. there is any chance for honor in school activities theie is where jou'll find the Sophomores. which we dramatized D Day was the scieam of the day Karl as big Billy was certainly a startler, Crawford as middle sized Billy was simply a joke, Orvel as little Billy was perfectly darling, while Stephen as the giant looked like he could tear a cat Everyone declared it was the best given. Our class Father, Mr. Hafen and our class Mother, Miss Scoiup have been a great help to us in our winter's work Their good suggestions and hearty encouragement has assisted us over many Billy-Goat-Gru- tf difficulties. In leaving school on the seventh day of May we do it only with the resolution of coming back next September, thirty-fiv- e strong. For every Sophomore is convinced that the Dixie Normal College is the only school in the State or Nation. Katharine Miles, 21. |
