Show THE DIXIE OWL 6 Dixie Ag. Club Regular meetings of the Dixie Ag. club have been held and good talks given. Mr. Woodward gave one on the Causes of the War. Mr. Nicholes talked on the operation of modern trench warfare; Mr. Romney gave us a brief history of the war and the fundamental differences between the governments of the allies and the central powers. All of these talks were very interesting and we hope to have them continued. Jan. 2nd Mr. Winder a practical dairyman of the northern part of the state gave a good talk on the dairy cow. Mr. Winder is heart and soul in the dairy business and kindly consented to go with the Ag. club and examine some of the dairy cows in town. Much good will be gained from such talks and trips and everybody should fry and come out. The Ag. club quartet is in full swing and has appeared several times before the club. Mr. Nicholes said they produced some good tones. The following is the latest song the club itself is learning. It is sung to the tune of The Old Oaken Bucket. How dear to my heart is the Dixie Ag. club, That changed my poor farm to a real estate show; The crops and the cattle all show the improvement, And ev'n the old rooster's remodeled his crow. To you Dixie Ag. club he crows, Dixie Ag. Club. When new fangled notions make old things seem new. The pigs and the horses think lifes set to music, Since things on the farm have a new point of view. So Chorus lieres to the health of the Dixie Ag. club, And life on the farm from a new point of view. (Repeat Chorus) How dear to my wife is the Home Economics Where cooking and dressing are equal in style. And down on the farm all the old common vittles Are fixed in a way that would make a man smile. With puddings and sauces and cakes most delicious. She travels the road to my heart every day. With house and the farm on the new science basis, I'm sure to grow wealthy and never grow gray. Harold snow. As the Nevada boys were not accustomed to playing on a slick floor, Coach Jonas had ordered the floor roughened to give them an equal chance with the home team. The Dixie boys came back strong in the second half. They were resolved to reverse the positions established in the forepart of the game. Tbe Nevada boys bad not come sixty miles to be beaten, however, so the game was swifter than before, if that were possible. Playing like a whirlwind the Dixie team slowly but surely cut down the lead of the Nevada team till within two minutes of the end of the game the score stood 26 to 22. At this point, the visiting lads who were slill playing a strong swift game managed to shut the Dixie team out. In the last thirty seconds of the game Cox of the visitors made a safe foul pilch making the final score 27 to 22 in favor of the Nevada Champions.
