Utah All American who now coaches for Snowbird Between runs when most racers are resting or memorizing their line for the second course Nixon was busy pounding in wooden wedges to make the slalom poles solid in the snow so the force of skiers banging past wouldn't knock : them out Sarchett completed his two runs in 1:2824 for his second victory of the weekend Nixon 1:2391 was close behind for second place Park City junior Greg Uldrich 1:3471 placed third "It was pretty grabby" said Sarchett of the new snow "I had trouble both runs It was a change from Saturday but that's ski racing You have to race in all conditions "You couldn't get back on your skis and you had to ski a little rounder" concluded Sarchett who has a solid string of success in Intermountain Division races He said the highlight of this season was the recent Spring Series at Sun Valley "I was racing at home and I won two second slalom runs against good skiers" said Sarchett 26 who has been chasing a spot on the US Karianne Eriksen who placed one-tw- o Saturday But when the race was history it was Eriksen and Jeff Sarchett who earned the ?lalom titles and the final victories on this Intermountain Division ski race season Seigneur earned the fastest first run in the women's race but in the second "the snow took my skis and I hooked" Seigneur said of the second-run fall which put her out of the race "The snow was hard to ski" It snowed in the early morning and then let up just before the races began The relatively high temperatures created sticky snow conditions and made skiing a challenge Eriksen revealed she hadn't skied for a long titime and didn't feel good about her trips off the ' Wilbere Ridge race hill The junior skier from Kongsberg Norway completed her race in 1:2984 to set the
