for nearly fi five ive weeks during which time his condition was favorable I 1 as well as unfavorable since being shot on the evening of january mr air morris had bad not breathed through his right lung at all that organ having been punctured by the bullet and the internal hemmock liage hage was the cause of the sad termination of this most deplorable affair the exterior of the wound healed rapidly and for the first week following the shooting mr morris seemed to be impi improving oving hy by leaps and bounds ile he ate well nell slept well and felt first late but as L time passed lie he became neri nen oua otio lost his appetite could not sleep anil and rapidly lost strength ile he suffered no bodily pain particularly but his condition grew steadily worse until the end came early sunday morning during all these anxious weeks his devoted wife was with him nursing him night and day never going from his side except for short intervals when site she would walk out on an errand or something of the like during the anxious hours of 0 saturday night she was administering to his wants although worn out and was finally persuaded to lie ile down and get some lest it was during the interim that her husband passed away and the wife awoke to find herself a widow the remains were taken in chaise by undertaker jesse W V hoopes and prepared for burial at the morgue of the stohl post mortem and were then taken to the home of president oleen N stohl and family where they remained until tuesday morning beautiful and impressive services were held monday afternoon at 4 0 clock at the home of president stohl the looms being filled with church workers in the stake who had been associated with the deceased in life and with friends who sympathized many beautiful floral emblems reposed upon vie the handsome oak casket and upon stands in tile the parlor and a sweet spirit pervaded the gathering resident president stohl presided and remarks 1 were made by pres NN C horsley tuesday morning the remains were conveyed to the depot and placed on board the kelton felton train they were accompanied home by sirs mrs morris forris mr william morris eldest son and mrs grover groner daughter of the deceased and by pros pres W C II ll and ulder elder C M jensen of the high council who went along to attend the services in rosette yesterday janies james N ItI morris orris was born in salt lake city nearly fifty seten senen years ago ile he was one of a large fa fatally faily his parents lents having crossed the plains in 1848 1849 I 1 and were pioneers As he 9 grew rew in years he took to team work and went into wyoming where he be got a start in life returning to salt lake for a season then lie he took his wife and two babies with all their earthly possessions in a wagon and started north not knowing where they were going the little party finally reached park valley and there decided to cast their lot that was twenty six years ago and there the be family hag bar lived over since battling with the elements finally succeeding in gathering enough ol of this worlds goods about them so that mr morris could have spent his last days in comparative comfort ills wife died a number of years ago leaving him with nine small children many ot of whom are now grown and married lie ile married again less than a year ago and life had taken on a new aspect tor for him and his family ile he served many years as counselor to bishop J IN W palmer ol of the park valley ward and when the rosette ward was created a few years ago mr morris was selected as first counselor to dishop bishop jacob ile he established a mercantile business at rosette Ito sette some years ago agg the upper part of the building being fitted up as an all amusement hall and when the post office was created at that place mr morris was named postmaster ile he was prominently identified with L moet every project ot of advancement in park valley and has clone his hia shdie shale in making the country out there what it is today one ot of his sons is at the present time lime on admission the demise of mr morris will bo be a severe loss to rosette and in tact fact eo 10 the alley and the news
