No Longer a Small Town Prior to the tour, while examining a model room" set up in downtown offices, Mayor Ferguson said Provo residents have to realize weve reached the point where we are no longer a small town. We've become a small city. Mayor Ferguson says he believes the hotel will help keep people in Provo for an extra day who previously have gone on to Salt Lake City for lodging. Provo has as much to offer tourists as Salt Lake, and now we will have a hotel to match those in Salt Lake, he said.
