Show Britain Building Ships. London In the house of commons on Thursday, a score of members attacked at-tacked the ' government's, method of dealing with the merchant marine. Arthur J. Balfour, first lord of the admiralty, ad-miralty, and Walter Runciman, president presi-dent of' the board of trade, replied to the attacks, explaining that while the situation was admiitted to be far from satisfactory, the government -was doing do-ing its utmost to make things better. He announced that merchant ships were to bo built as fast as possible. |
