Show ROAD QUESTION NOT DECIDED Quite a degree of excitement was experienced ex-perienced last Wednesday when the Salt Lake dailies came out. with reports of Monday's meeting of the state road commission which, at first reading seemed to give the impression that a decision had been made as to the route for the state-forest road connecting Emery and Sanpete counties. The reports were badly garbled however how-ever ai d it took imformation from several sources to piece together the ixact status of the question. It seems that Jewkes and Lyman voted for the Straight Canyon route, Spry and State State Engineer Beers voted against a mountain road, and' Heterson, the other member of the board, favored the construction con-struction of this road bnt desired some j additional information on the subject and did not vote, with the result that final action was postponed until Monday. Mon-day. A meeting wili be held in - the town hall today (Saturday) at 2 o'clock to decide on some line of action. The county commissioners have . been J notified and it is expected they will be present. Soroe decisive action must be taken, it seems, or we will get no road at all. |
