founding of our country The best pgrt of his success was his humility After his colorful career in the army he returned home to his aged mother and was just the same boy who had left her except for the physical changes due to hardships he had encountered Washington never spoke of his exploits In a boast- borhood ing way George Washington was very religious Once during the war he was the only officer of the mounted troop of which he was a member that came out alive He wrote to his mother that it was by Divine Providence that he was saved He had a pew in his neighboring church that still exist today Whenever he was at Mt Vernon he was always to be seen in his church pew Most of the time he was in Valley Forge that terrible winter he prayed for help and strength and insisted upon praying among his men Washington might have been the general of the army but he didn't ever feel superior to his men When they suffered he also suffered Whenever anything hap-ne- d that was wrong and ought to righted no man was afraid to come to their dear generaL Another great influence over life was his George Washington's music He was a good musician and loved good music Picture a quiet evening
