Show 4 i HUNTINGTON The past week has been very dry and hot and some parts of the hay and grain crop are almost to burn. A shower Is needed to cool the ground. A letter from one of our boys. Guy Young at Camp Kearney, says "no more letters from here wc ars on the move but don't know where." The people who visited the temple have all kinds of complaints to make over their bad roads going over. They all returned some other way as all ways are better than that. Dr. Hill just returned, last evening from Salt Lake whither he had been for examination for the medical corps. We don't like to part with him. He has a big field here and no one to leave in the district. He is needed here. It would look better to take three or four out of some other districts' dis-tricts' half-dozen than to take the last one from any district and leave it without with-out surgical aid. The saw at the Mart Jensen mill is buzzing this week, according to promise and soon the lumber will be coming to town. A move Is on foot to have our canyon can-yon road "patched up a bit."' A few places need a little attention but the road is not bad. Some of our people returned that way from their temple trip. Some of our hay stacks look rather highly-complected the late rains had something to do with it. Still it is better than no hay. A number of our stockmen have been on the mountain the past week among the stock, salting, vaccinating, branding, etc. A general cleanup day next Tuesday at the meeting house and grounds so that all will be in apple-pie order for conference. We extend the invitation to all: come to conference we will accomodate you plenty of room and good company. A ladv of our burg has bought a cow and calf for $90 and has nearly paid for the animals with currants. That's going some. How about the currants? |
