Show ORANGEVILLE The Beehive girls and Boy Scouts have Just received returns from the Thrift stamp contest which they entered en-tered some time ago. The girls came out $1.60 ahead so the scouts will give a dance tonight but the girls have planned a surprise for the boys. All the boys are asked to meet at Frank Killian's residence at seven o'clock just before dance time on important business. Of course the boys do not know that all the Beehive girls are there with a grand surprise for them. A nice big supper is in store and the boys will surely be surprised for none of them has heard a thing about it. .Our Red Cross auxiliary is doing a great work. We have ninety-eight members in our little town and we are all ready and eager to do Just whatever what-ever we can to help this cause along in every way we can. Sam Johnson and his son Maurice are slowly recovering from the very severe illness which they have had for some time. Miss Irene Sitterud has returned to her labors as clerk in the Crawford-Luke Crawford-Luke store, looking greatly refreshed after her visit with her sisters at the camps. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fox are in town to see old friends and children. Everyone Every-one is glad to see them enjoying themselves them-selves in their fine new car. Mr. and Mr. George W. Fullmer were also home last week. We are always al-ways glad to see our townspeople return re-turn once in a while if only for a few days. Will Tuttle is also home again glad to see everybody and everybody glad to see him. The Young Ladles and Young Mens associations certainly made a great hit last evening In presenting the play, "The Fortune Hunter." They were nearly all young people who have never nev-er played before; but it would be hard to make those who did not know believe be-lieve it was some of their first trials, for they did fine work, and every one enjoyed it very much. There was also some fine singing between acts, so that everything went off fine. We would only say, "Just keep on, folks we could enjoy plays like this quiie often, for it helps the organization and keeps the money home" Our Boy Scouts are to give us a play soon and we are confident It will be equally as good. We are to have a grand dinner and entertainment for the old folks on Friday, and we all expect a grand time for we love our old people and want them to be happy. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Peacock were happily surprised a few nights ago by a crowd of friends, who, with all kinds of good things to eat, called on them to remind them of the fact that it was Mrs. Peacock's birthday. All wore glad they went for they had a fine time. Howard Roid has come back home from the camps and expects to put in a big crop to help feed the soldier boys. They all will likely soon be returning for the season's work on the farms. |
