Show IT'S bELN iO SALT LAKE ACAIN (From Sunday's Herald-Republican.) Ira R. Browning of Emery county is being urged to become a candidate for slate road engineer. He said last night at the Hotel Utah that he had not consented. Friends are urging him not to accept an appointement under the incoming Democratic administration administra-tion until after the legislature meets, as they desire to present his name to Governor-elect Simon Bamberger as a candidate for appointment to the public utilities commission, which the Democratic party is pledged to create. Mr. Browning said that he had not determined whether he would seek a place with the administration. In the last legislature he was a member of the house from Emery county and the author of the automobile automo-bile License bill which has returned in revenue to the state more than $124,-000. $124,-000. He said the bill would have to be amended so that cities would be given the right to regulate their own traffic. Mr. Browning has built a number of the roads in Emery county and the highway from Castle Dale to the railroad rail-road is said to be one of the best in the state. He said that his private business demanded his entire attention atten-tion and that he would not consider the advances made by his friends until un-til after December 1. During the campaign he was in charge of Emery , and other southern counties for Governor-elect Bamberger. |
