Show HUNTINGTON The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Leonard Leon-ard last Sunday was well attended. A large audience of friends gathered to pay their last respect to the noble woman, wo-man, and the speakers all spoke of good works during a long pioneer life, upwards up-wards of fifty years on the frontier, adding ad-ding her might to reclaim the waste places. Her lamiiv consisted ef thirteen thir-teen children, eleven of whom are living. Her six sons, to show their last act of respect on earth, were the pall bearers from the residence to the meeting house. The speakers were Patriarch Peter Johnson, John F. Wakefield, Pres. L. P. Oveson, Prof. Horace Cummings and Pres. Iverson. They all made selections of choice words to tell of her useful life. The Bishop made a few closing remarks and the procession moved to the cemetery. Near thirty vehicles followed. fol-lowed. Dr. Hill has been quite busy of late looking after the ailing ones. None seriously ser-iously sick. He has taken to another avocation and you would be surprised to see how well doctor looks behind the plow. The cares of a family causes his ideas to branch out. So he's gone to gardening. Our photographer, Mr. Kopf, is doing some fine work these days. All wishing wish-ing work in his line would do well to call on him during the conference days. Ferry L. Young is just movin? his wool to the market. Lots of money for Ferrv, if we don't count the expenses, ex-penses, but that is what the stockmen complain of big expanse. Bishop Nielsen and a crowd of helpers help-ers made a raid on the meeting house Thursday. Cleaning was done both inside in-side and outside for conference. We are naving ideal weather now no better could be expected at this time of the year. Of course, the wind blows a little, but we don't .ninj tint if it doesn't freeze. Lots of good fruit coming com-ing this way. More cement at Nixon's, a car load ?ust in. Mr. and Mrs, Go. M. Miller is in Salt Lake this week. Geo. is ailing and is taking an inside view of the hospital. Some one broke in one of the saloon windows Monday evening. Tnat was sure mischief, for they could not expect to find anything wet in a dry house. |
