Show J PERROiN A baby girl made her aspearance at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor, last Thursday evening, but died shortly after birth. Our sympathy goes out to the bereaved parents. A bundle shower was given Miss Agnes Rasmussen last Thursday evening eve-ning in honor of her appio.iching marriage. mar-riage. The girls all brought their: lunch and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Mary Black left Ferron last Friday for her home in Huntington. She has been our central for nearly a year, and we feel that she has been a friend to us while living in our vicinity. We wish to thank' her for what she -has done for us, and Will all say "goodbye." Decoration day was not forgotten. Last Eriday morning our little cemetery ceme-tery was beautifully decorated with flowers, till it seemed as though the ground was one bed of sweet remembrances. remem-brances. The day passed off quietly. Nearly all the graves were visited, very- few if any being forgotten. We have a new "hello girl." Miss M nnie Stoker, will take the place of Miss Black beginning the first of June. The drug store has made a little change during the past week. Things have been arranged differently. They must he expecting ,o get right into business. Eh, that's what! j New trees have been set out around Jour meeting house to improve the loca-tion,aud loca-tion,aud we hope all of them will grow. Ojr aim is to improve our town as much as we can, "Now watch us grow." Misses Blanche and Chloe Llewellyn, both of whom have been employed in Salt Lake City since last October, are home again. Mr. C. R. Sundberg from Salt Lake county accompanied the girls home, -and found Emery county just a little different from the city which they must all expect. Misss Kate Lemon entertained a large crowd of her friends at her home Monday evening. Music and games were the entertainment, In the game playing, Miss Lillian Nelson won first prize and Mr. Mix won second prize. The everiir.g was spent and all had a good time. Our usual eorjoint meeting was held Sunday evening. Tuesday evening the young ladies entertained the young men of our ward in a very suitable manner and a good crowd turned out. The girls treated the gentlemen to ice cream, then wound ud the evening in dancing. He anticipates antici-pates taking up the work with them. Good for you, Wilford, we need a good veterinarian here in our town. Bert Childs has moved to Cleveland, where he is engaged in has blacksmith shop. Miss Carrol Curtis has returned to Hiawatha to release her sister Ora, who has been working in the hotel. Miss Ora will goto Seattle in the near future to visit with, friends, relatives, and old acquaintances. .We arj having a little more difficulty N with the Western ditch. It seems to be a little weak up around the cliffs, but now they have it. nearly all cemented. ce-mented. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Childs are home, visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Childs. They will return re-turn in the course of two weeks to Loa where they are employed in the district school. Lee Moffitt and Ernest Childs left last week for Montana to work. Report comes that Ray, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. F. iLuke, is in the hospital suffering with leakage of the heart. His many friends of Orangar ville hope that he will soon recover from his bed of affliction. Mrs. Jennie Kelly is home to visit with her parents while her husband (L. G. Kelley, stat" auditor) is in Boston Bos-ton on business for the state. We are very glad to know that one of our boys has gone to the Temple to take upon himself the cares of a f . We wish him well and are glad that he has taken the step that he has. We all wish him luck and may his troubles be "little ones. " |
