The Monday deadline is for municipalities that provide for primary election nomination, which inoludes the larger first and second class cities and others which have adopted a primary procedure by law In these cities a new law this year eliminated the need to gather petitions containing the names of 1(H) registered voters. Salt Lake County municipalities are Salt Lake City, Alta. Draper, Murray, Sandy and West Midvale, Jordan. two-tiere- d But in towns and third class cities which havent enacted a primary election law, candidates have until Oct. 9 to file under a different law that permits nomination either by political convention or by petitions containing the names of 25 registered voters.
