Show $25,000 Worth of Emery Honey THE estimate of the honey crop of this valley is placed at $25,000 by the Advocate at Price from where the shipments are made and this in spite of the fact that some of the bee men thought last winter that there were to many of the bees sticking to the snow on warm days. It is not a bad showing considering that all the bees in the county are valued at less than $6,000. It would also be fair to take this into account when figuring the profit on the land that produces the feed for the bees. The paper says: "Emery county's strained honey crop this yeai will foot up ten to twelve carloads, according to what is considered reliable estimates. Some seven cars have already been bought up by C. E. Millspaugh, representing rep-resenting a Los Angeles house, who has been over in the south for several days past. "His purchases will amount to two hundred and fifty thousand pounds for which he paid six cents a pound delivered at Price. One car of Millspaugh's purchases is already at Price and is being shipped east and south, none of it going to California. "This Emery county honey is sold in Texas, St. Paul. Minn., Chicago Chi-cago and farther east. Candy manufacturers and fancy bakers are the largest consumers. The honey product of Emery county this year is estimated esti-mated at around twenty-five thousand dollars." |
