Show Unflattering Truth. A Chicago physician gleefully tells a child story at his own expense. The five children of some faithful patients lad measles, and during their rather "Song stay in the Improvised home hospital hos-pital they never failed to greet his daily visit with pleased acclamation. The good doctor felt duly nattered, hut rashly pressed the children, in the days of convalescense, for the reason of thi suddeu affection. At last the youngest and most indiscreet let slip the better truth. "We felt so sick that we wanted awfully to do something naughty, but we wfie afraid to be bad for fear you and the nurse would give us more horrid hor-rid medicine. So we were awfully glad to see you, always, 'cause you made us stick out our tongues. We stuck 'em out awful far!" |
