Show 50TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED BY SEELY'S One the greatest family reunions ever held in this county was that of the Seely family in celebrating the Fiftieth Birthday Anniversary of the four honored hon-ored Seely's, William H., Joseph, Stewart Stew-art and Eva R. Seely Christensen, which wa9 held in Mt. Pleasan. Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday June 26th and 27th. There were Seelys from far and near that assembled in Mount Pleasant to celebrate this great family reiKiion. Among the distinguised families who were in attendance were those of j Orange Seely, Sarah Seely Tidwtll, Don Carlos Seely, Hyrum Seely, Justus Wellington Seely, John Henry Seely' Miranda Seely Peal Oman, the family of David Seely, Joseph Seely, Stewart Randolph Seely, Eva R. Seely Christensen Christen-sen and Senator John H. Seely and family. Randolph Seely of California' John Lowry of Springville. Dr. S. H Allen of Salt Lake City, Edwin Pettit of Salt Lake City, Joseph N. Seely, Willian Hutchinson, and Peter Meiling of Idaho, Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens, and Hettie Steeples of Millard County, Ella Johnson William Woods, Wesley and Sarah Bills, Maud Carlson and a great many others. Large representatives of each of these families were present and had the privilage of making their aquaincance with many of their relatives rela-tives that they had never before seen. An elaborate banquet was given at the Assembly Hall Wednesday at which more than four hundred and fifty people peo-ple were served. Nearly every family i in Mount Pleasant was represented at j the tables. The dinner was arranged i and served under the management of Chas. H. Eatinger, of the Quality Market of this city. After the banquet a most interesting and lengthy program was rendered at the Opera House. It was too long to be given in one day so only part was carried out the first day. There was music by the band. Song by grandchildren of Orange Seely, Sr., and Justus W. Seely II, entitled en-titled the "Seely Bee." Speech of welcome, J. B. Seely. Reading by Carl Hopkins. This concluded the program for the first day until evening wnen a dance was given at the Amory Hall where all the Seelys great and small enjoyed themselves in one grand ball. Thursday morning the program was concluded at the Opera House in the following fol-lowing manner: John Lowry talked on Temple Work and Pres. C. N. Lund continued along the same line of thought. P. Winters. Justus W. Seely II, told of the Seely Reunions and how they originated. Andrew Madsen, President of the Pioneer Asociation, made a short address. ad-dress. Orange Seely, Sr., gave the presentation presen-tation speech and presented four sixty dollar watrhes to the four honored See-lys See-lys in accordance with the custom of the Seely family. These gifts were of excellent ex-cellent quality, purchased from the local lo-cal jeweler, C. D. Strang, the names of each engraved on the case. Joseph F. Seely, son of Joseph Seely, in behalf of his brothers and sisters presented pre-sented bis father with a beautiful gold locket on which was engraved the Seely family coat of arms. Speech on the Seely family Coat of Arms by William J. Seely. The Seely family Coat of Arms is a sword and a sheaf of wheat. The signifiance of which is ''What we gain by right, we maintain by might." Orange Seely, Sr. was sustained-president of the association organized for temple work. This concluded the program pro-gram of the great family reunion. Nev er before has Mt.
