Show (ounty iik EMERY Mrs. P. V. Bunderson entertained Tuesday afternoon in honor of her sister, Mrs. Thomas Fitzgerald of Price. Those present were Mesdames Etta Williams, Bertie Williams, Emma Edwards, Ed-wards, Ada Petty, Clara Wickman, Alice Simonsen, Nena Petty, Lavern Olsen, Alice Hogan, Lulu Anderson, Georgia Anderson, Luella Burr, Jennie Larsen, Emelia Williams, Stena Soren-sen, Soren-sen, Lydia Peacock and Lucinda Williams. Wil-liams. A delicious lunch was served and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. The committee for the 4th of July has an excellent program arranged and we have every reason to expect a good time. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Broderick entertained enter-tained a number of friends at their summer home in the east field Sunday afternoon. A 13-pound boy arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Larsen last week and another bouncing boy was left with Mr. and Mrs. Ashmer Miller. Miss Juventa Williams has been seriously ill since last Friday. Dr. Graham was summoned Tuesday and pronounced the case appendicitis. At present she is on the improve' and it is thought an operation will not be neces-cary. neces-cary. The heavens have been everlastingly weeping the past ten days and no sign of a "let-up" yet. HUNTINGTON It is getting quite common for the autos to traverse our streets these days. Cashier Crawford of the Emery County Bank madea flying trip to Price and back. He passed through town Sunday going north about 8 a. m. and came back just before 11 a. m., probably four hours from Cascledale to Price and return. That's going some. ' That whooping and yelling up at the Nixon residence, on Sunday eve was made by the boys and girls who went there to have a social. It was St Claire's birthday. A nice visit until quite' a late hour. J. Fleming Wakefield just hailed Irom Pro vo on a visiting business trip. He got here just too late to see the folks before the quarantine flag was posted at the Wakefield residence. So he has to talk to the people "off hand." We are sure that those big strawberries strawber-ries up at E. G. Geary's would make any mouth water at the sight of - them. If you don't think they are fine, you'd better call and see 'em. On Sunday last we received word from D. C. Woodward that Mrs., Hetty McArthur, one of our district school teachers now attending summer school, had broken out with small-pox and was quarantined with two others of our teachers in Salt Lake City. The principal prin-cipal writes that she is not very ill, but it will knock her out of her summer school work for the season. The other two girls were immediately vaccinated which will no doubt prevent them from breaking out. . Mrs. Ellis Johnson, our Y. L. M. I. A. president and a little boy of : Henry Stevanson have just broken out with small pox, so two more flags are up in our town. The old casss are nearly well but we realize we may have more. Elders Sorenson and Hickman of Castledale paid us a visit in the interest of prohibition and gave good 'talks in the Sabbath service on Sunday. ' Several pictures were protrayed to show the evils of the saloon but. we realize the dollor is of more importance . than the sorrows of humanity and therefore some ! close their eyes to the pictures' and ob-' ob-' ject to having their freedom interfered j with.
