Show Meisrs. Clyde Nelson and John Mathis of Sevier county made a business trip into Emery county the forepart of the week. Mrs. M. C. Wood and children left astwetkfor Kanab where they will join the Doctor with the expectation of locating in that section, j The Ward teachers wer recepients of a great blow-out at the home of Carl Berg last Thursday night. Delicious refreshments were served. George Storrs, chief lieutenant in Uncle Jesse Knignt's industrial army, , spent a few days the forepart of the week in Castledala on business. People all over town are making preparations pre-parations for entertaining relatives and friends who will attend the big celebration celebra-tion of the E. S. A.'s Kii anniversary next Friday afternoon and evening. Reduced rates are announced by the D. & R. G. for the Tax convention at Salt Lake next Thursday and Friday. All of Emery's officials, who have to do with tax matters will make the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Lamph of Hiawatha, Hia-watha, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Widetich of Mohrland and Ex-Sheriff Johnston of Blackhawk were attendants at the funeral services of "Andy" Smith last Wednesday. The Progress force and household are enjoying the very comfortable advantages advant-ages of a hot and cold water equipment. The installment was made this week, Alva Wall having made the plumbing connections and a right fine job he has made of it. They, will, however, be ou t here in the spring j Elder A. P. Johnson of Huntington, j Utah, claims the distinction of having j held one position in Church work longer than any other worker. He held the position of Sunday school teacher from March 20, 1868, to Jan. 15, 1912, or a total of 44 years.
