Dennis Day, Troy, Ohio, has been named by the Sait Lake City Library Board to head the Ce Co th ex citys four-branc- lib- h rary system. Mr. Day, now serving as director of the Troy-MiaCounty Library, will assume the post Oct. 4 He replaces Richard J. Rademacher, who left in June for another library position. The appointment culminates a search during which 47 we five-mont- were applicants screened He will receive an annual salary of $24,000. A $2,000 moving allowance was approved during the monthly board meeting at the City Library. Mr. Day is president of the Ohio Library Assn., served as chairman of the Miami Valley Library Assn, in 1970-7- 3 and is an active member of the American Library s ? Assn. In other action the library board accepted the annual audit report for fiscal 1976 prepared by Haskins and SeEs. W. Howard Van Orman told the board the library books are among the best hes seen. He was critical of the Hansen Planetariums procedures of holding cash receipts for several weeks before depositing them. This is the second year we have recommended changes. Deposits should not be held nn if that long. Deposits ' should be made at least once a week to keep the honest people honest and the dishonest from being dishonest, he said.
