Exact Data To make a new map, the experts gather exact data about the area to be mapped Surveyors use precise instruments to measure distances from one point to another Other information maybe supplied by geographers, geodesists and even a geologist or two Of course, a great deal of information is obtained from aerial photography and even satel lites. Numerous pictures are taken with special cameras. A person called a photogrammetrist can use these pictures to make precise and accu rate drawings After all the information is gathered and organized, it is given to a cartographer. His job is to plan the map and determme what is to be included and what is to be left out.
